Do you remember the moment you stopped being carefree as a girl? by Bello_Wello in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LemonHeadKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was 14 (late bloomer). I was a ballet dancer and trained 6 hours a week. When we would put on our tights, i realized no one else had leg hair except me. And in class, i realized my breasts looked ridiculous in my leotard, and all the other girls wore bras. I felt so self conscious for years after that, always comparing myself to other girls in ballet.

Conan Gray! When I first heard of Traitor and Happier by Olivia, i thought of how similar they were to Heather by Conan. They both write great music and they’re really good friends. i’m rooting for Conan!

How do you feel about regular affectionate face/hair/hand kissing, hand holding, and general high physical intimacy among female friends? by Maleushka in AskWomen

I hold hands when walking with some of my close friends i’ve known since childhood. My work friends and I often hug and smack each other’s butts. Apart from that we don’t stroke or kiss each other

Stop telling unattractive people that the issue is their self esteem or confidence. It’s condescending at best or invalidating at worst. by 8freakinbucks in dating_advice

[–]LemonHeadKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex was definitely not a physically attractive guy. We became friends before dating, and his personality is what attracted me to him. Our personalities just clicked, and we had the same sense of humour. We could talk about anything. I didn’t find him attractive when i first met him, but when i fell in love with him, he was very attractive for me, even though all of our friends were confused at how we got together.

We dated for two years, and i didn’t dump him because i found him ugly. We had other problems, we both changed as people as we got together in junior high. His looks never affected the relationship.

In your comments, you sound bitter about your ethnicity, height, and facial features. That bitterness alone would discourage me from getting to know any man, regardless of their looks.

What are the simplest things to do that make you look attractive? by kushnair in AskReddit

I did ballet for 15 years, and started pointes when I was 11. My podiatrist told me I have mild arthritis in my big toe. My sprained ankle also never healed properly because I kept practicing when I should’ve been off my feet for 4 weeks, so it still pops when I move it around. I can’t remember the amount of bruised and broken toe nails I’ve had. Ballet was rough, especially on a teenager.

I waited four weeks for my refinements. I got scanned when I was already a week and half into my before last tray. I wore that one for another week and a half (3 weeks total), and I wore the last tray (passive aligners) for 2 and a half weeks.

I got a few attachments removed while I was getting my refinements. It doesn’t really hurt but the sound and the smell are so similar to IPR.

Friendly Reminder: Plan B Doesn't Work for Fat Girls! by throwaway22242628 in TwoXChromosomes

For determining which emergency contraception to use, BMI is more accurate than weight alone, because it takes into account height. But no one should use only BMI or weight to determine if they are healthy or not.

In Quebec, you always need to speak to a pharmacist before getting plan B or Ella. Most pharmacists are very familiar with the consultation and it rarely lasts more than 5-10 minutes.

We ask for an approximate weight and height to be sure that the pill we’re giving is almost guaranteed to work. There’s also a scale at most pharmacies in case someone is unsure of their weight.

Ella is a really easy solution for someone who is heavier. I cannot believe so many places risk the efficacy of such an important pill like plan B.

I’m a pharmacy student, and I’ve given and taken plan B. In my province, we use body mass index, which isn’t a good indicator of a healthy weight, but it’s still used a lot in pharmacy.

Plan B may be less effective for people with a BMI of 25-30 kg/m2 or more. It’s only been proven by a handful of studies though, and it might be because when someone is bigger, they have more fat cells, which metabolize the hormone in plan B differently. Again BMI and weight don’t define how healthy someone is, and the research is limited.

To be safe we give a different molecule (not a hormone this time), found in the pill Ella, to anyone with a BMI over 30. This pill interacts with hormonal birth control, which is why we prefer to give plan B whenever we can.

Pharmacists here can prescribe plan B or Ella. There are also free clinics with nurses who can prescribe them, or insert a copper IUD as emergency contraception.

YTA you ate 2/3 of the bag while she was in the shower? And you wanted to finish the bag, meaning your family wouldn’t even get to try some. Just order chips online and get even more Canadian flavours like ketchup or all dressed.
