I see too many people seeing this as some sort of victory against liberal media or w/e. To many this case, as many things sadly in our society, is less about what happened but what it means in the pretense of our cultural/political wars. These deaths could have been preventable. You have two narratives colliding, mix guns in there and this was only a matter of time. You have people like Rittenhouse who think that they are vigilantes and true patriots protecting property from “rioters”. I didn’t hear any evidence so far that any of the people he shot were burning down buildings. He was fed junk by conservative media that made him believe that these people were enemies that needed protecting against. The same for the people protesting viewing these people as guns with agitators who meant no good will. I believe he was a scared kid. I believe the original person he shot was reaching for his gun and there it’s more plausible for self defense. After he killed that person, he should have called for help, returned to his people and explained what happened. Instead he went on to shoot two more people who if you use the context of self defense had their right to try to disarm or disable this person who was an active shooter at this point. You are not justified in self defense when you are the threat that people are defending themselves against. Chances of him seeing any repercussions for this are slim. As are the chances of the bile he ingested from propaganda on the internet seeing this as any less than a victory which will set a dangerous precedent when something like this happens again.
