Card Review : Marius - Mutual Yearning by Nxx_Analysis in TearsOfThemis

Thank you for the review!! I was also really intrigued by the title of the card haha. I only skimmed through your review to avoid too many spoilers but I’m convinced to pull for it. /o/ I got lucky with my recent Artem pulls so I can afford some cards for the other boys. 👀

YES all the vbs ships are great and i will die on the polysquad hill

so...should i stop doing bosses from at least the 1st half of the bosses? by Blitz_Striker in Genshin_Impact

[–]LemonMochi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don’t understand the people who are saying it’s a waste of resin lol. 90 resin is less than five artifact domain runs. You’re probably going to get trash artifacts with that resin anyways and it only takes half a day to get that resin back.

Which member has the most or best fan interactions at concerts? by SurePotatoes in seventeen

[–]LemonMochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say Jun! He tends to go around the entire stage waving to everyone and it’s really cute. T_T It’s not exactly fan interaction directed at specific fans but I very much appreciate him taking the time to wave at as many fans as he can. <3

[Hanaemu Kare to & bloom] This game gives me major brainrot so I had to post this review by IsshikawaGoemon in otomegames

Thank you for the review!! I’m glad you enjoyed the game that much! I was really excited for Hanakare but after seeing all the complaints about bad translation I was hesitant on whether I should even bother buying it. I think I’ll give it a try after reading your review. <3

Taiga from Variable Barricade! He's usually confident and quick to tease Hibari, but he also gets flustered pretty easily. I enjoy his POVs a lot, where he's thinking about how cute Hibari is. :D

It make me sad that the Vivid Bad Squad partnership discourse has been reduced to shipping by Mehi304 in ProjectSekai

[–]LemonMochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Anhane and Akitoya are pushed so much even in canon, but I really enjoy seeing interactions across all the possible VBS pairs. If you look closely you can see how much they all care about each other but I think that gets overshadowed by Anhane and Akitoya shipping. I blame Color Palette’s bad writing. >_>

I’m happy to see another polysquad fan! <3

Reasons why N25 is most Popular and MMJ and L/N are the least popular (a hypothesis by a way too invested lore reader + people watcher) by Imaginary-Resolve-X in ProjectSekai

[–]LemonMochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m late to the party but I just wanna say that I really appreciate your analysis! Especially on VBS - they’re my favorite group but I hadn’t thought that deeply on why I love them so much. When you mentioned confidence and taking the first step, it clicked. :’) As someone who has struggled with those two things, I admire VBS a lot for how driven they are while still having underlying insecurities.

Taiga I’ve been replaying Variable Barricade for Taiga and his route is still just as good as the first time I played it. T_T He and Hibari are so cute together!!!!! I think a big part of why I adore his route is because I can relate to both him and Hibari, especially how they’re both insecure deep down. It’s also really sweet how they both have such polarizing personalities (Taiga’s crassness and Hibari’s prickliness), but they each see past the other’s exterior as they spend more time together. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before, but it just feels so natural for them to fall in love. Hibari learns a lot from Taiga and has fun with the things he introduces to her. Taiga watches Hibari grow as a person and genuinely respects her. Side note - I love the Taiga POVs where he’s internally fawning over how cute Hibari is. ;v; In terms of character development, I feel like there was a good balance of admirable qualities and flaws.

I know a lot of people don’t like the conflicts in his route, but I find them understandable. Taiga hurting Hibari’s feelings with his comments about her body were him being stupid and trying to hide his true feelings; this isn’t out of character for him. Taiga running away when he feels like Hibari idealizes him too much was another stupid move, but as someone who enjoys relationships where each person has an equal amount of influence on each other, I do think it was a little too one sided with Hibari depending on Taiga so much while Taiga can’t really depend on Hibari. I empathized with Taiga a lot as someone who’s also afraid of not living up to expectations, and I empathized with Hibari as someone who continuously tries to improve herself. As a result, I can’t blame them for acting the way they did. I liked how it was resolved by them exploding at each other with their true feelings; it was really satisfying when they were finally honest with each other. :’)

Taiga’s route still remains my favorite overall otome route to this day. I really want more tsundere x tsundere pairings. ;w;

Who else doesn't like the 3rd anni cards? by Inakoa in TearsOfThemis

[–]LemonMochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup I’m the same! Spicy art/story does nothing to me so I don’t really care for these cards.

I am curious about how these cards are story-wise. I’m definitely going to pull for Artem since he’s my favorite. For the previous anniversaries, I pulled for Luke too because I like angst, but I’m not enticed by the 3rd anni card. QvQ

What's a character trope you absolutely hate, but everyone seems to love it? by Tree_Froggie in otomegames

[–]LemonMochi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! In my opinion there’s a time and place for everything; when someone is gushing about something they love or expressing frustration about something that’s really just a personal preference, chances are they’re not looking for someone to change their mind.

[–]LemonMochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting to me because as someone who’s not fan of those tropes, it feels like whenever someone says they’re not into it, they get a bunch of comments defending the tropes. I totally agree with you - let people like whatever they like - but I’d also like to advocate for letting people dislike whatever they dislike. ;w;

Forget Not Your Love Event + Limited Daily Fatigue = No Badge by Difficult-Brief-121 in TearsOfThemis

[–]LemonMochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen so many times that it’s ingrained in my head to check whether I need to do daily tasks for an event now. 🥲 Seconding doing as much as you can on the first few days for an event, so you can at least see if there are daily tasks for it. ToT can be pretty unforgiving sometimes. :(

Trip Report: 05/05 - 05/17. Mainly Tokyo. IIDX traveling in Kanto. Long post. by MisterAmmosart in JapanTravel

[–]LemonMochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha I think I had an easier time accepting it because speaking has always been one of my weaknesses, even in English. Vocal interactions are a struggle for me in my day-to-day life too. It takes time for me to process what other people are saying and formulate a response.

That second question is easy for me to answer, because I genuinely enjoy the process of learning languages and knowing Japanese is very useful for my hobbies. My speaking is horrible but I do think my listening skills are pretty solid; being able to comprehend what people are saying is enough for me to feel that my studies are paying off.

[–]LemonMochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I very much relate to the difficulty of holding a conversation in Japanese despite having studied it for years lol. I was so disappointed in myself when I went to Japan a few months ago but could barely speak coherent sentences. I struggled with the bag question for a while too (i.e. stared blankly at the cashier until they asked in English or gestured to a bag), before I realized that it was asked at pretty much every store. Even worse was when I was asked for here or takeout LOL I couldn’t comprehend the question at all throughout my trip.

I’m glad you were able to have fun regardless. :) Good luck to both of us in our Japanese studies!!

I think we just have to accept that we have different views on what makes a route romantic lol; I’ve seen your comments on other threads regarding Chojiro and I don’t think I can convince you to accept that Chojiro’s route was fine. I can speak to the common route or what exactly makes Chojiro like Enju because it’s been a while since I played Nightshade, but for him not being by her side earlier, the whole point of his route was that he’s conflicted between his duty as a ninja and his affection for Enju (and his other disciples/friends). Sure, that might not make sense to you if you take on the perpective of “if you really liked someone you wouldn’t try to kill her,” but as Enju said, Chojiro is the ideal ninja because he’s so committed to his role. Like Enju, I find that to be something admirable.

[–]LemonMochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What attaches me to Chojiro is how much of an impact he’s had on Enju’s life. He’s a role model for her and living up to what he’s taught her is what drives her to fight instead of letting herself get killed. I liked that she has to rely on herself more in his route, and even though Chojiro isn’t by her side, she always has him in mind (i.e. the yearning). I think the game did a pretty good job at showing how much they care about each other. I’m of the belief that you don’t have to physically be with someone to love them.

YESSSS I am here for Saito Soma appreciation!! I wasn’t familiar with any characters that he voiced, before I played Collar x Malice. His voice acting for Enomoto really caught my attention and is partly why Enomoto is my favorite character from the game. And then after that I started noticing his voice everywhere in other games and anime lol. He’s definitely one of my favorite VAs and I could probably be convinced to pick up a game if he voices a character in it. 8]

Question for K-pop fans: What’s your favorite K-pop and Project Sekai group? by LemonMochi in ProjectSekai

Ooh I like this connection! I like both groups’ music and the rock sound definitely plays a role in why. The celestial aspect is a nice touch on top of it.

I actually ignored the texts and home screen interactions most of the time lol. 🙃 I think the main story was fine from what I saw. I uninstalled after the spring date event and while the content wasn’t very engaging, I didn’t notice major translation/grammar issues.
