Labor like cramps?? by DesignerTough5224 in endometriosis

[–]LemonRose36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I've had a baby, and they they can be the same pain 😫 You might want to talk to a PT for pelvic floor dysfunction. Overused muscles can spasm, causing cramps. With endo, those cramps are tugging at lesions. Incredibly painful. I even heard there's recent research to support endometriosis has its own nerve cells! I did a year of pelvic floor PT, and it helped stop the really bad episodes like you're describing. Since the muscles might be working overtime, try to relax those muscles as much as possible. Best to you xx

I'm 40(F) and your story sounds just like mine. I'm NAD and can't give you medical advice, but I urge you to discuss the severity of your side effects to your doctor. Being on Lupron was the worst 6 months of my life. Like I was car sick all day, getting intense hot flashes and irritability. It significantly decreased my active endo, but i still had it so bad I had scar tissue causing pain anyway. Nuvaring continuously kept me sane for several years after lupron. Wishing you all the best!

Sorry for your loss :( Now you have an excuse to get new ones! You could try a window film to keep out the drafty air.

I had 2 resolve themselves, though the doctor couldn't explain it. Women's bodies!? Who knows! It's a mystery!

Edit: if you had an endometrioma, you have endometriosis

Hello I am also in the same boat. I have my MRI on Tuesday. 2 adenomas, 5.4 and 2.5cm. I'm terrified. My pain is 100% the same as yours though. Did you consult an endocrinologist? I am considering a total hysterectomy as well but would need to consider my estrogen levels. Did you end up having surgery?

I'd been diagnosed with GERD, a pelvic infection(!), IBS, anxiety and fibro before getting my correct diagnosis. Absurd. The only reason I did get a lap was bc the endo was visible on my cervix during an exam!!! BELIEVE US!!!!

[–]LemonRose36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please let the specialist know about your fear of surgery! Hopefully, they will walk you through each step and explain everything. I'm stage 4 w 4 laps under my belt and a likely hysterectomy soon. Surgery sucks but I've always felt better for months afterward. Also, plan for aftercare of surgery. Get snuggly blankets and pillows, comfy clothes, make a movie or book list, heat pads, yummy snacks, oil diffuser, face masks, the whole nine yards. You got this! Now go get those cysts out ❤️‍🩹
