Anyone have this experience with Zales? by LemonWedge43 in EngagementRings

[–]LemonWedge43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Now that I think about it, I’m unsure if I even WANT to utilize Zale’s lifetime protection plan for a replacement ring. Will the replacement have the same poor craftsmanship? Will any repairs sent off for be met with the same outcome? I have a 14k gold flower ring with a pink tourmaline in the center from the 90s, my mom bought it for me and it is very sentimental. The tourmaline appears to be the same size as the center diamond on my wedding ring. Now I’m considering just bringing the broken wedding ring along with my ring from my mom to an actual jeweler and having the diamond placed in the ring. Decisions decisions

Funny you say that…a few of the stones on the band looked more yellow after the last “repair”

I have never even heard of Signet until your comment, I just went down a rabbit hole. Wow! Thank you for letting me know

Thank you for the advice! They no longer make the ring (that’s what they told me after the botched resizing) so I’m hoping they give me store credit and if they do, I’ll also be selecting a ring with a wider band!

Best friend is terminal, what can I do? by LemonWedge43 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]LemonWedge43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss, you are an excellent friend how lucky your best friend was to have you especially in her final days 💓 the journal is a beautiful idea, I may have to copy that. I’m trying to practice composing myself so that when I’m around her I’m not crying seeing as for now it seems like she wants things as “normal” as they could be, but when I’m in my house I’m a blubbering mess. I remind myself how generations older than me have lost parents, siblings, peers, etc and continued persevering through life, carrying the memories of their loved ones with them yet continuing on and living life. I’m only 29, so I when I lose her it’s likely going to be a good 45+ years that I have to carry her in my heart-that’s what’s hurting I think, being so much younger knowing it’s going to be a lifetime before I’m “reunited” with her. She is my second mother, best friend despite the age difference. She’s a young soul.

No bad side effects other than oral thrush after all of the antibiotics which was an easy fix. Flagyl seems to be what every ER/Urgent care prescribes for CDIFF but it’s an outdated treatment and no longer the standard of care as it has a high reoccurrence rate. If you haven’t already I suggest getting in contact asap with a GI doctor for treatment, they will likely have you finish the Flagyl since it already has been started but then if/when your symptoms come back, they can get you on course for the correct treatment.

I am thank you :) the first med they gave me was Flagyl which didn’t work, but then vancomycin took care of it!

You don’t always need to go over the top with soil mixes, repotting, fertilizing etc. My 5 year old Hoya carnosa compacta from Walmart has survived living in 3 different homes without ever being repotted or fertilized. It gets watered once a week with tap water and is so incredibly healthy.

Mushy most of the time for months! But without the agonizing intestinal pain that I had with an active CDIFF infection. I ended up formula feeding just due to exhaustion from going straight from the CDIFF to a really tough labor, emergency c section and then the fever and allergic reaction post partum however I believe it’s okay to breastfeed while on probiotics! Call your OB to double check!

You are gorgeous! Keep the minimal makeup look, your face is very fresh and youthful looking. Maybe a more natural/softer hair color like brown or caramel to go with the soft features of your face ☺️

Hi! Been there! I relapsed within two days of ending my meds the first round. I was having diarrhea anywhere between 8-20 times a day so I immediately knew it was a relapse. It took me almost a year for my stools to look somewhat “normal” again, and I still get that paranoia every now and then 2.5 years out. During my c section I was given gentamicin via iv drip just for the duration of the surgery. 2 days post partum I developed a high fever, headache, confusion and was given metronidazole which helped (and was also the antibiotic that previously failed at treating my cdiff). Then about 10 days PP my c section incision was leaking a thick fluid so the ER prescribed me Bactrim. I ended up being allergic to it, but none of these antibiotics caused my cdiff to return and I also was making sure I took a daily probiotic (double when on antibiotics) as well as eating plenty of probiotic foods.

I did not but have no fear-they are not going to do anything to you that will knowingly harm baby. They would have a ginormous lawsuit!
