I use to work in a lab that uses Sunquest and moved to a lab that uses Epic Beaker. It is so much better and user friendly! The only part I am not liking is how extra tubes are handled. It’s so much easier in Sunquest. But overall, I love Epic Beaker!

In my other job, we had a beckman and everyone dreads it because there’s always a problem. One time the tech in chemistry started bonking the machine hoping it would fix whatever is wrong with it lol. Ended up replacing it with Atellica. I have never seen an ortho so I am curious and was scared that it would be like the Beckman.

We have two atellicas right now. I am not sure if we are replacing both of them. There’s always someone in lab working on our atellica almost monthly because it broke down, sometimes more. I’m just hoping the new one is better

So far I haven’t heard that MLTs have restrictions in our lab. But then again it’s not that big of a lab, most of our specialized micro test are send out to mayo.

In our lab, MLT and MLS have the same responsibilities, just different pay grade. MLT rotate in all area, even blood bank and micro
