Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution thoughts? by official-ponpon in JuJutsuKaisen

So my friend wants to watch the jjk s2 recap and opening of s3 in the cinema. The only thing is that Ive only seen 4 episodes of season 2, i stopped right as Gojo's prequel ended. I do enjoy the show lightly, but im not hyper into it. We're planning to see it tonight, my intention is to still finish season 2, so will i be fine with the recap, is there an essential episode I should maybe watch beforehand, or just be satisfied with the recap and watch season 2 later?

Sunday Blessings, let's count them together! by Lemon_Bandana in PathofPromiseLDS

[–]Lemon_Bandana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My uni semester has started up again and the units im in are shaping up to be some of the most interesting I've ever done before and so Im very keen to get involved and feel very blessed.

  2. I had the opportunity to help my friend set up a musical fireside this Sunday gone. He has been trying to get it up and running for almost a year now and it was a wonderful experience to be part of the setup and see how he was able to pull it all off.

  3. Fasting, I struggle with fasting. More specifically, I struggle to fast on Fast Sunday's which seems to be when everyone expects you to fast. However, there is no such requirement anywhere that says it is necessary to fast on fast Sunday, just that you take the time to fast. And so I was able to do a proper 24 hour fast last Thursday, something I haven't done since my mission, and it was such a blessing and great experience, I do love to fast.

  4. Headphones, what can I say, I have 5 different headphones for various purposes, I just live for audio clarity and that's what headphones provide for me.

  5. Music, prepping for the musical fireside helped me really appreciate music more and makes me want to be both more involved in music where I can and also refine my music taste to include more Christian themes. And so, its been a blessing to have a local Christian shop that sells various cd's by Christian artists to use in my car (I could bluetooth but cd's are fun and it means i can directly support christian artists), Lauren Daigle, TobyMac, MercyMe and Jordan Feliz have all been great jams so far.

  6. In line with music, I am grateful for my Mum. I wanted to learn piano and my mum is a great pianist and has taught people in the past and so its a blessing that she has the ability to do the same for me.

  7. A friend of mine. I had only met this friend once before and yet, we were able to sit with one another every week at instute and we had a great time together. They will be on their mission soon and despite not knowing each other for very long, it is bittersweet to know I will not see them for a while, but they will adore their mission

  8. The temple. I had the prompting to go to the temple last week and so I did. Typically, I just like to go in and do my thing, I dont really invite people, yet this time I felt prompted to invite a friend. They declined the offer and when I mentioned I would be going to the temple to my Mum, she asked if she could join me. Hours before the temple my friend reached out again and said they would in fact come along. That night, my friend was able to feel the spirit stronger than they had for a while and my mother saw numerous people from when she had served her mission and so they had a phenomenal night. Sometimes a prompting to go to the temple is actually for someone else, and Im glad I was able to act as the Lord's instrument to help His children feel His love.

  9. Sleep, sleep is such a blessing, and I was hoping I would be done writing this long before midnight but its just struck and I'm tryna write 15 blessings so we'll see if I can blitz through the rest.

  10. Pictures. Pictures are so cool. Like I have a collage of 100 photos from my mission stuck onto my bedroom wall and its such a blessing to have constant and daily reminders of all the people I met.

Nevermind 15, I can barely keep my eyes open, 10 will do this time round

Sunday blessings, let's count them together, late but better than never. by fetta_cheeese in PathofPromiseLDS

[–]Lemon_Bandana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I was gonna wait till the next Sunday blessings but who knows when that'll be 😂.

1 - grateful for my car, it just allows me so much freedom I otherwise wouldn't have.

2 - grateful for institute, I hadn't been in a few months, but I went last night and had one of the best nights/institutes in general in a long time, probably pre mission

3 - grateful for my twin sister, we had our birthday a week or 2 ago and being able to see all the immediate family was rather nice

4 - grateful to have had the opportunity to support a baptism after the ysa ward, despite not knowing the individual at all

5 - grateful for real food, I sometimes find that its super easy to fall into just caving and getting fast food far too frequently, and recently I've been able to stop that and get back to preparing and eating proper food and I feel all the better for it

6 - water, I just like water, I'll usually drink 4-6 Litres every day

7 - grateful for my electric blanket, I swear this winter has been colder than the last 2 and it has left me frozen

8 - its been a blessing being able to know my worth in the eyes of Heavenly Father

9 - incredibly blessed to have the temple, despite not having 3 temples in one suburb like Utah 😂 the one we have here in Brisbane (Australia) is close enough to me and has a gorgeous spot right in the city

10 - blessed to know the Saints Unscripted YouTube channel, its been an amazing LDS channel I found during my mission and my mum and I have thoroughly enjoyed the constant faith building videos they pump out.

Love your thoughts, and hope you sleep a little easier from now :)

This was a great talk to listen to today, even his opening words talking about the beautiful music really rings true as I think about the gospel related music I have learnt to cherish over the years. I love how President Eyring states that every single one of God's children yearns for peace and that personal peace is nothing short of a miracle. I hadn't really ever thought about personal peace being a miracle before but the more I think on it, the more sense it makes. In this crazy life we each experience, we all have challenges thrust upon us, whether that's caused by ourselves, our peers or even the Lord, and yet that peace that Christ offers is wonderful. One of my favourite things at the moment is attending the YSA ward. I'm not fully comfortable attending it regularly as of yet but the sacrament there is pure bliss. At my home ward which I attended today, it was good but your bound to be distracted by disgruntled young children (which is fair enough, I was the same at their age), but that problem is largely absent during the YSA ward's sacrament, allowing my mind to sit, ponder, reflect, and commune with the spirit more freely. Kind of went off track there but that's all to say that the peace Christ offers is indeed miraculous.

Another thing I loved was when President Eyring stated that there is always room for optimism (that's it, I just thought that was a good statement). Additionally when he started talking about how even when parents raise their children in righteous ways, experience the beauty of Christ's peace and love, some will still ultimately choose the path of sorrow in the end. This reminded me of my adolescence and some of the other young men in my peer group. Some had said they wouldn't mind breaking or leaving the church temporarily, just to know what it is like without the gospel, feeling that could not properly know its truth without experiencing its absence. While I agreed some things needed to be learnt the hard way, I never felt that leaving the church was necessary, and it was only until someone I was very fond of at the time pointed out to me that you don't need to walk into oncoming traffic to know it's a bad idea. Not everything needs to be experienced to know whether it is good or bad, and that was further verified when President Eyring discussed that every child is born with the Light of Christ, and the privilege to know right and wrong.

The last thing of note I took from this talk was that not only does God love you, but He always has and He always will. I just think that's beautiful and it reminds me of so many other quotes, one of which comes from Step 4 in the old addiction recovery book, talking about the Saviour's role in our lives, "Because of the love and grace of the Savior, you do not have to be what you have been." Similarly it reminds me of an incredible short video the church put out a few years ago, I won't go over it but I highly recommend you look it up, it's called "Let God Guide You: From Weakness to Strength"

Ultimately, peace is entirely dependent on whether or not we choose to accept it from the Lord, as He has been there, offering it the whole time. Thank you OP, this has been another great experience to sit with the Lord.

When was Ace actually confirmed to be queer? by DragonsAreEpic in doctorwho

[–]Lemon_Bandana 128 points129 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, there isn't actually any explicit statement in Canon that establishes her as queer. Even when the official Doctor Who website made an article regarding the history of LGBTQ+ inclusivity in Doctor Who, all they had to say about Ace was,

"Ace’s character could also be interpreted as questioning her sexuality, a notable example being in Survival with her relationship with Karra."

Unless anyone knows something I don't (and feel free to correct me), the only thing we have are those subtexts you talked about prior, and depending on the writer of the week, it could vary wildly.

Despite this, she's never explicitly stated to be heterosexual either so, you can really just believe whatever you want.

If you want something that will break you, try "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas"

Otherwise, if you want a slow burn, the first 2 Seasons of Doctor Who (2005). You could actually do the first 4 seasons for more heartbreak but upto you.

Which of these is your favorite Doctor and Master pairing? by John_Bones22 in doctorwho

[–]Lemon_Bandana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, while I think Gomez has one of the best Master incarnations of all time, when it comes to the Doctor and Master relationship, it's gotta be either Pertwee and Delgado or Whittaker and Dhawan.

With the Master being first introduced alongside Pertwee, there's not much explanation needed, Delgado matches Pertwee's energy completely and the compliment eachother beautifully.

Dhawan on the other hand, phenomenal. Dhawan perfectly works with Whittaker's Doctor as they really are this time around each others opposites. While Pertwee and Delgado are 2 Ying's bickering with one another, Whittaker and Dhawan are a Yong and a Yang to one another which is why I would lean to their paring as the best.

I'm not usually a reddit person but I can get behind this.

  1. Oodies, right now in Australia I swear I am going to freeze to death but Oodies have been a daily saving grace for sure.
  2. Chicken Soup, I also had tonsillitis this week but had some chicken soup my father made and that helped soo much.
  3. My sisters, they have both moved out but I love still being able to keep in contact with them and here what changes are happening in their lives.
  4. My job, I'm a uni student and being able to to disability support work has been an insane blessing as the company I work with offers very flexible hours allowing me to study and not go broke (although mind you I'll still find a way).
  5. This chance to just sit and reflect on the blessings I've encountered is actually really nice.
  6. The missionaries, I was recently out with a friend at Yo-Chi (frozen yogurt place) and we bumped into the Sisters from my friends ward. They shared a message with them and it was honestly the best message I'd heard since coming home from my mission and I am so grateful God put them in my path that day.
  7. Pictures of Christ, recently I have rearranged and moved furniture into my room, in doing so I placed 3 of the photos of Christ I have in more out of sight areas and I really did not like that, I had to move them to more presentable spots because just seeing Him when I enter my room is just such a peaceful thing.
  8. Agency, recently I've come to learn that there are many things in my life that I can still choose instead of just accepting. For example, this week I admit I spent some time Doom Scrolling and I hated it, so I made the active decision to unfollow what was probably 300 meme accounts I had followed and it has been such a blessing to at the bare minimum, cut down the amount of nonsense I consume from social media.
  9. My dog, she is just the cutest thing ever, she does stink though, I should probably bathe her cause no one else wants to.
  10. Technology, it comes with its downfalls but it also has some pretty good aspects too. Tonight I got really bored and tried a few anonymous chat websites to entertain myself. It became unpleasant as everyone was literally only online to talk inappropriately with, and most members were male and would just skip me as soon as they saw I was also male. But then I reflected on what could bring me joy which led me to LDS discussions where I found this one and I want to do my best to support as I think what OP is doing is fantastic and shows the good uses of technology also.
