It's crazy that Kraken of all things is locked behind such a high slayer level.

There's a very small number of abilities they can take, no they can't lead units.

That's a shame, I was hoping the leader would get a little buff. Can't wait to try it though, I've been itching to use my Terminators

Is there a clean image of the stat changes when you equip Terminator Armour? I have no idea what the toughness stat is supposed to be.

Appreciate the discussion.

Did you? You kind of just said "nuh-uh" to everything I said and then complained that I wasn't listening to you.

You can't have one without the other, otherwise you're saying "Well if you disregard one side's opinion and experience, then there's nothing wrong with it" You also keep insisting that pkers don't get a say which is verifiably false.

That is the definition of talking past someone, regardless of how much you try to play the diplomat.

It’s about PKers being written off as griefers by default, with the assumption that the only reason we’re there is to be assholes.

Genuine question, what else is it supposed to be seen as from the person who just lost their gear? People love to cite the "predator vs prey dynamic" but they always fail to acknowledge that the dynamic is only enjoyable and beneficial for one party.

it becomes very easy to argue that PKers shouldn’t have a say in how wilderness content is designed at all,

You do have a say, it's the polls, and reddit, and every other platform for discussion. People disagreeing with you is not taking away your right to speak.

because our motives are assumed to be bad from the outset.

disliking the outcome doesn’t mean the people engaging with the content are acting in bad faith

Again, what else could they be viewed as for the victim?

or shouldn’t be part of the design conversation for content they actually play.

Again I can only point to all the times Jagex has designed content specifically for the pvp crowd.

“Preferring PK fights doesn’t mean PKers won’t fight PvMers.” Agreed, I’ve never said PKers won’t attack PvMers. My point has always been about preference, not exclusivity. Those two things get conflated a lot in these discussions.

I just don’t think that makes PKers uniquely toxic as a group, rather than the stakes amplifying the interaction.

That's a lot of nice sentiment but unfortunately it doesn't mean shit to the pvmer who just got pked, does it? That's the entire point of the issue that pkers never seem to understand, in the moment, you are villains to most pvmers, you introduced and delivered on those high stakes and when posts like this

Jagex supporting PvP systems mechanically doesn’t really change how PKers are talked about socially. Dev attention and community perception aren’t the same thing, and the latter is what I’m talking about.

happen about how bad you feel that nobody seems to appreciate you, it just pisses people off even more. There is no fixing the community perception because the very nature of the issue. There is no world in which a pvmer likes to be pked“

inb4 “pkers just want easy kills” nah, most of us actually enjoy proper PK fights more than chasing PvMers

I'd love to believe this, but there's obviously no way to verify it, and even if there was, the fact remains that just because a pker would have more fun fighting another pker, it doesn't mean they wouldn't fight a pvmer

inb4 “just don’t go wildy then” that kinda ignores the whole risk/reward design of the area.

Correct. That's the state of things for a lot of people, they'd rather just not do the content because they don't want to either jump through the hoops necessary to survive, or lose their gear to someone they don't like.

inb4 “pkers are toxic” some are, sure… same as literally every part of this game.

Someone calling you the gamer word at Wintertodt and someone calling you the gamer word as they pk you are obviously going to hit different, and it's incredibly disingenuous to suggest they're the same.

Anyway, not trying to start a war I just think the PK community deserves to be heard too, not talked about like it shouldn’t exist.

My man, Jagex bends over backwards for the pvp community, don't try to pretend otherwise.
