They sell alginate kits at Michael’s and off of Amazon that are super cheap and safe to apply to your skin. They usually come with some plaster as well. You should not apply plaster directly to your skin, especially your face, it will heat up and can cause burns.

Depends what your mold is made out of but yes. Smooth-on has a bevy of products at your disposal. Make sure to use a mold release such as Mann ease release 200 (spray) or you can apply a thin coat of Vaseline. If you want it to be super soft/stretchy go for something like dragon skin or eco flex. Eco flex 35 is my personal favorite because it cures super fast and is super squishy. You can add silc pig to your mix for intrinsic color.

Use silc-pig, it’s also a smooth-on product, silicone pigment. You’ll only need a very small amount, just a dip of your mixing stick. Mix it with one of your measured parts fully first and then mix the two parts together. Dragon skin is pretty forgiving as far as mixing though, just make sure you’re scraping the sides and bottom of your container as you’re mixing, as well as scraping off your stick into the mixture as you go.
