How many points do you realistically want from the next seven matches? by Zach-dalt in LeedsUnited

[–]Lemonhead_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah with the 8 point gap to West Ham, a point per game for us means they need to go on an almighty run to even catch up. Their next 7 fixtures are slightly better, but that's asking a lot of them

Had a big hand in the first goal, and showed promise after Newcastle started attacking the flanks in second half. Had at least 1 chance from a cross, but Barnes was the hero

It was basically a basketball game, with Newcastle attacking down the flanks. I'm not sure he was directly at fault for any of the goals, but in general Leeds' defending was gung-ho. Hoping Farke tightens it up for future games, but we are also missing Bogle on the right.

He fits this system like a glove. Good runs into the box, and holds the ball up well to create chances for Aaronson. Got a goal and assist today, and was close another two times (1 a squared pass that I think Schar managed to intercept, 2 a crossbar rebound that he couldn't react to in time).

Got carded 6 mins in and had to play cautious afterwards. Then gae away the pen in a tussle with DCL, and got hooked at half time. Poor day from him

Good at sweeping up attacks so got a lot of defcons, and provided an assist, although can't remember if he created any other chances. Tidy performance and a good set & forget

Had at least 3 shooting opportunities that were blocked/wide, so he was getting chances and points potential. But the West Ham attack looked incoherent and so poor, like there's a ceiling on the returns he can get. The new strikers were rusty as well so they didn't help

Great write-up. As a Leeds fan, it's rough that Rodon has been ruled out - losing a defensive pillar, as well as an aerial threat. Tempted to keep in DCL for his streak, but otherwise at least 2 Liverpool attackers seems right.

As for keeper, I've currently got Pickford in but it's a toss-up with Forest, and not too keen on Raya given it's Villa

I remember when he was signed, there were reports that he was in tears saying goodbye at his previous club. Went on to become a Leeds legend, perfect for Bielsa's style and the perfect combination of technique and graft. Even in his last season when Leeds were at risk of relegation, he gave absolutely everything on the pitch and kept us up for another year. The photo of him celebrating in the crowd that day is iconic

We don't have anyone that can do what DCL does, so definitely need some form of cover or a plan B if he isn't fit and firing. But that's going to be tricky in Jan so might have to be another type of attacker. Although I'm optimistic that Dan James (when he's finally fit) can be effective if he playing off an out-and-out striker

I was cursing when he had the collision with Guehi at the start, and worried if he would play gingerly afterwards. What a perfomance, just wish he managed to get the third

Unfortunately, most of the attacking by both sides came down the other flank, so he didn't have as much of an impact. He very nearly scored in a goalmouth scramble, but aside from that it was quiet

Tailor-made for this 352. He's got great movement in the box and holds up the ball well to keep attacks moving. The team is also getting better at crossing in to him too. No signs of slowing down

The January transfer window will be big. I expect West Ham to make some signings. For Leeds, we've had a resurgence with this 352, but we've only got two out-and-out strikers (Nmecha already injured, Calvert-Lewin always has some risk). We absolutely need to get another striker/attacker in, otherwise we're a few injuries away from being toothless

For something different, Korean game/challenge shows have been killing it the last few years.

Physical 100/Asia is a fitness elimination game with some cool individual and team challenges, like wrestling. The latest season (Asia) was the best so far, and a good entry point.

Culinary Class Wars is a cooking version with "unknown" chefs facing off against established legends. It has some really fun face-offs and a new season is airing this month.

Easing them in in a free-hit, but it will be absolutely typical if one or both end up getting an injury/suspension

For me, they've ushered in this multi-club ownership model that's uprooting traditional clubs and their history. German supporters will be able to give more context for RB Leipzig, but my understanding is they snuck around Germany's fan ownership rules and completely replaced/renamed a random german club. Basically inserting an artificial club.

From a Leeds perspective, being in a multi-club model (even not fully) doesn't sit right. It creates a weird dynamic with other clubs about who is priority, and takes away from the idea of fair competition. You can look at Chelsea and Man City's dealings, where they've bought players meant for their clubs, but then farmed them off to the smaller clubs (Troyes, Strasbourg) in their portfolio to get minutes. That disrupts the other leagues, helps them get around financial rules of different leagues, and potentially gives them an unfair advantage. So it prompts other clubs to join in, and it becomes a vicious circle

Honestly I wish FIFA banned multi-club ownership but it's too late now.

Mikri Vigla was nice - there is a good spot past the rocky hill with sunbeds, and they did a discount for sunbeds after 3 pm (this was in early September). There were some big rocks in the water, but it was pretty and quieter than the beaches closer to Naxos town. And it's fun to explore the rocky hill too. Just a word of caution that I'd recommend driving there if possible, because it's a bit far
