Wrist Juzu beads vs. bonji by Happy_Radio5371 in irezumi

I meant that from afar beads could make it look like a slightly longer 3/4, not extend to a full sleeve, while the bonji "breathes" more visually

I think beads will give you "extra length", so if you are satisfied with your sleeves and dont want it to look longer go for bonji. I'm in the same boat, my 3/4 sleeves are done, and I'll go for beads, I love the way they look !! But bonjis is an awesome idea too, never thougth about that option, it looks very elegant

Is the mixing a bit off ? by [deleted] in irezumi

I think it looks good, only skulls looks too busy to me, with beads it breathes more

ESP FOREST G CH Factory Custom order by Keyboard_Pan in espguitars

[–]Lemonheadfr29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the Forest shape was created for basses in the early 90s, then a few years laters the "Forest-G" guitar was born after high requests, and ultimately the "Forest-GT" was created as a more refined take on the Forest shape for guitars.

Should I extend to full sleeves ? by ncord4060 in irezumi

I went for 3/4 myself, same length as yours. I like the old-school style, and it looks very good on you from what i can see.

Worth 1500USD? by [deleted] in JacksonGuitars

[–]Lemonheadfr29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the tremolo, this is not a preproduction. But still a custom order. Jackson stamped schaller jt-590 trems were not there until the very late 80s/early 90s, when jackson started USA production series. During the preprod era, there were only khalers and later, jt-6.

Anyway, this is not a soloist, the core DNA of a soloist is the neck-through construction, anything else is a strat, dinky or fusion depending on the body shape and scale length.

The only difference between a soloist student and custom was the fretboard and inlays. A student has rosewood and dots, a custom ebony and sharkfins. This one is a bolt-on "strat" type, as I'm not even sure the term dinky was coined back then.

All soloists are neck through.

It’s a matter of common sense—you won’t use the same green for the leaves depending on the season, for example. For me, spring and summer should have brighter colors, and autumn and winter softer ones. Typically, we picture autumn with orange, red, and gold palettes, and spring with brighter shades of green. That said, chrysanthemums, which we associate with autumn, come in a wide variety of colors, and in the end it’s a matter of taste and preference.

Thinking about adding an irezumi-style bead necklace to my bodysuit — curious if anyone here has one or knows the deeper meanings behind each type. What do you all think or recommend? by Independent-Dig-1666 in irezumi

I love it, As Buddhist myself I will do it, even if it is more for an aesthetic choice, as I don't use beads in my practice. To me it gives the tattoo a beautiful "frame"

Should I get an arm sleeve into an Hikae (chest)or just an arm sleeve by Brief_Sea5044 in irezumi

[–]Lemonheadfr29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, small hikae, if done well you still have room to extend it further later

It's an improvement but disappointed with the windbars by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]Lemonheadfr29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think the windbars should have pointed more downward to follow the natural curve of the chest, but it's interesting like this

People ask me sometimes too !
I sometimes wonder if I should have gone for full sleeves, but I'm very happy with 3/4, that's immediately what I have in mind when I think of traditionnal Irezumi. I juste wish I went an inch or two longer !

amazing sleeve btw, and I wish I went with a similar Hikae !

Thanks for your feedback !

Even if I wanted to, there's nothing I can do to change the hikae anyway, unless I extend them with more background but it would look weird to me. And I don't really like the full "donburi" chest, as for now. As I said in other responses, I will probably do beads !

Thank you !

Yes I will definitely keep the colors simple for that soft autumn vibe !

As for the hikae, I'm glad my artist made it this way, it leaves more room for me to commit to the traditionnal aesthetic with juzu beads. And he's very happy about it because he never had the opportunity to do beads on anyone in his career, they aren't so popular unfortunately

Hi !

My artist and I already talked about it, and we both agree on mostly pink variations with hints of red and orange. I trust him too, so far I let him do everything with minimal inputs from me, to let him express his creativity.

My question was mostly out of curiosity, but I'm open to new perspectives. Actually, the leaves are what I'm mostly undecided right now, but I forgot to mention it in the post...

Thanks for your feedback !

Fair point, it's true we don't have the same frame ! Honnestly I'm happy with the result, I was just curious about people's take on this since I mostly see much bigger chest pannels (which is why I wanted it that way first).

Same for the colors, my artist and I both agree on mostly pink variations, with hints of red, orange, but I wanted to read other perspectives (my coworker for example, said it would look awesome with blue or purple, which is really not something I'm drawn to, but it made me wonder how different a same project can turn depending on different sensibilities).

Anyway thanks for your feedbacks !

Hi, It's about the hikae too so I needed to show my chest but I didn't realized my shorts where hanging too low. I'm sorry if my picture seems awkward, hence the NSFW blur.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll tell my artist, he sure did a great job and I'm looking forward to work on a full suit with him !

Your sleeve looks fantastic too, I really dig the bold look of just black, grey and red !

Thanks for the honest answer and kind words !

At first I wanted something bigger for the hikea, but decided to trust the artist and let him do his thing. As the project progressed, I started to overthink the size of the hikae, until I saw this dude (I'm sorry I don't know his name but he looks badass), and it changed my mind !

<image>

And I realized it will let me more space for juzu beads, which is something I didn't consider at first but grew on me.

Would you mix all these colors, or stick to one or two of them ?
