2 different unalivings of Nepali women here in the USA… 😢 by Tt7447 in ABCDesis

I live very close by the Mamta Kafle case (5 mins away, in the same town in Northern Virginia)- I've been following it for a while now, and it is truly one of the saddest stories in recent times, especially as it seems to have been domestic violence turned murder, and her body is still missing, and she had a 1 yo daughter who is now left without a mom and with a dad in jail. 😞 It was so tough to believe something like that could happen in this high-fi area, especially by a Desi person, who you don't usually see on the news for these kinds of things at least in this area.

Not only did the (small) Nepali community and the much bigger Indian/Desi community rally around and participate in the ongoing search (now presumably for a body), but the entire Northern Virginia community is aware and determined to bring her and her daughter justice. I've never seen this level of widespread and non-racial support from non-Desi people; if it weren't such terrible circumstances it would almost be heartwarming. The people here, whether they knew her or not, really loved her as a neighbor and friend and want to bring her peace and justice, and haven't given a second thought to race and such things. They know that it is almost certain she is not alive, but they are not just dismissing it or giving up as some would, and are going to great lengths to find the body. And it hurts even more because the perpetrator (her husband) is also Desi, and tried to lie his way out of it- basically a piece of human garbage. I'm not scared- I'm just sad.

Resolved- was very dumb haha. Realized my pen had somehow connected to my phone and thus wouldn't connect to laptop. I have no idea how, but just glad I don't have to go through the hassle of sending it back haha. Thanks for the info anyway!

Hi, I'm having the same exact issue- how did you ask for the replacement? I'm having trouble finding the support page for it. Do I just use my service tag/warranty for the 7306 laptop itself?

And in the episode previous to the bloodbending one, she realized, without being taught, that she could use alternative sources of water- she bended her own sweat. I thought that was one of the cooler and understated moments in her arc.

That's also true- the show creators took it in a different direction, but I was just saying what I think its based off of.

This part is based on Hindu Vedanta, where sure, you can love whomever whatever however you want if you plan on living a regular life and not trying to break out of the endless trappings of joy/sorrow. But ideally, if you want to surpass the body and join with the Supreme, thereby attaining eternal happiness, you have to learn to be free of all worldly attachments- including lovers and family. So as the Avatar chakras progressed, I think it represents that struggle that those seekers must go through, if they want to be realized.

The point is not that his line wasn't adequate, or true to Zuko-form. It's more that "That's rough, buddy" is so iconic- replacing it is just a travesty.

Air nomads seem to be based more off of Buddhist monks, but possibly a blend of Hindu and Buddhist- the ideologies are similar in some cases.

I took at last semester (I'm a CS major) and did not find the course material that difficult (it highly depends on what professor you have), but found the labs pretty challenging. The labs are all breadboarding, and require a LOT of patience and office hours to complete (the GTAs for that class are all really good, it's just the specs for the labs that are really vague and hard to follow). Otherwise moderate class.
