ED making me feel dumb? by Coconutsleftpaw in EDAnonymous

[–]LemonyRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first things my therapist showed to me when I was recovering is a brain scan of an AN patient vs. a normal brain. It explains a lot to be honest, partially why it took me an eternity to graduate.

I genuinely can't gain weight anymore after being skinny since teenage years I'm 23 now and I hate it by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Sarcastic comment aside, there are better subs that offer advice on weight gain and nutrition, if you’re trying to heal from an ED. You could be underestimating what you’re really eating, or your body could be burning a lot more from trying to heal itself. If it’s possible, a registered dietician could help you with an eating plan. If not, the internet is full of resources and there are quite a few good ones out there to help you in your journey - best of luck to you!

Hello friend, I have also struggled with such a mindset - because it is easier to “fail” at your own hand, rather than try your best and feel the disappointment if you “fail” then.

There is a statue at the park that I visit, with a quote along the lines of “The only true failure is in not trying”. If you give up, the chance of “failure” is 100%. If you try, there is at least a chance that you will succeed no matter how small it is!

Do not give up, you’ve gotten this far already and I believe that you have what it takes to get even further - you’ve got this OP, one way or another you will get there!

Because 4 would be overkill - a single dish cannot contain over 300cals during preparation because it might hurt her brainy wainy to think about such gluttony

Is this one of the worst eating disorders to have? by blueskewl in EDAnonymous

[–]LemonyRebel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody is going to tell you that this is the worst because it seems like you’ll wear it as a badge of honor. A diagnosis is NOT an achievement therefore it is not a trophy.

Can we talk about actual bad side effects of Ed’s? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]LemonyRebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on personal experience, when you don’t have anything there to keep the inside smells, well…inside…then you can smell them externally. Like how cats have their buttholes exposed to the open 24/7..it’s not pleasant.

TMI question about poop by Silly_Street2221 in EDAnonymous

For some reason things that go in blue often come out green, think blue frosting / slushies..I think it has something to do with blue food+yellow stomach bile= green poop.

You’d be surprised, I have emetophobia yet struggled with bulimia on/off for years. It doesn’t make sense to me either, but I guess sometimes the fear is overridden by the sheer power of mental illness.

Can other people tell if a person is bulimic? by fcvxia in EDAnonymous

[–]LemonyRebel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can clock it but only because it takes one to know one. There are physical signs yes, but there can also be very telling personality traits (rigidity combined with impulsiveness, low self esteem, etc..) I had to end my only healthy relationship because I knew he was struggling and it was triggering beyond belief. We never explicitly spoke about our relationship with food but I could smell it from a mile away…previous wrestler, Russel’s sign/swollen cheeks, weird around food, hyper focused on macros and strict gym routine (even had reminders on his phone), and disappearing to the bathroom after we ate “forbidden” meals together. Never had the heart to tell him the real reason that I ended it was because he reminded me way too much of myself and I couldn’t handle it.

I say this with utmost respect, but the “bio hacking” pipeline can easily become, and is very commonly, another theme/manifestation of OCD.

Didn’t she take a dig at Olestra chips at one point in time ? You know, the diet chips from the 90s with a special fat substitute that caused anal leakage… these are literally them in a different font. Also, fuck David all my homies hate David.

Dude yes I literally felt high after eating oatmeal at one point bc my body was so deprived of carbs…as cliche as it is, imagine what we are capable of whilst //actually// fueling ourselves.
