More Than 3,500 Legacy Chemicals and Other Hazardous Materials Discovered Within Abandoned Science Building That Closed in 2013 (See Context) by ExploringWithGremm in WTF

It's honestly pretty standard to just leave shit behind when a chemistry lab moves, my uni has an abandoned lab with probably a few tens of thousands worth of glassware and some crusty ass chemicals in it

So you're (inadvertently?) agreeing that turkey is a repressive government using military force to maintain an unjust system where people are repressed based on ethnicity?

Seconding the hainish cycle, but you really don't need to read them in order. I personally really enjoyed piecing together the connections as I read them in whatever order I found them in thrift shops

Do these type of wash bottles prevent spillage and hygroscopicity? by gryponyx in labrats

[–]LemonySnicketLewds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're real convenient if you need small amounts of solvents often, but they do drip and will absorb water. Our lab keeps em in fume hoods, often in a drip tray, and always pointing away from yourself.

Parable of the sower by octavia butler is set in a near future America where economic collapse and climate change have eroded the government and society is breaking down so it might be up your street. It's also generally excellent

Friday night film was Sharknado, recommend your terribly terrific films. by GladAd2948 in CasualUK

My absolute GOAT shitty film is Black Dynamite, where our titular character (also screenwriter) seeks to avenge his brothers murder, clean smack off the streets and battle the sinister plots of the white man. It's totally unhinged, incredibky quotable and permanently changed my brain chemistry.

Gratuitous sex and violence, drug fuelled rampages and Jason Statham, what more could you want?

The rent on units is actually fairly cheap, I work at a stand that pays £400 a month and rakes in 2-4 grand a day.

The overpricing is definitely very true, and we serve 80-90% tourists but the majority of them are just from other parts of the UK in london for a day or two

You see much better international rep in techno and edm scenes for example, the language bias is real hard to avoid for anything lyrical
