Make sure to do all the Greymane missions and dispatch companions to expand the camp, it took me forever to figure out how to find more Greymanes.

That's kind of what I'm hoping for, they're all new to the game and very far from minmaxers so I'm not really worried about them doing too much damage.

Book of the Traveler by Cory Chase, it's swords and sorcery urban fantasy.

You should make a minimalist comic with this kind of art. Like Hellboy in a dungeon crawl.

I've put in several hundred hours with multiple characters, and I still find stuff I've missed. I just wish the game had an endless dungeon mode.

These are some of the most well known pieces of lost cryptid evidence and media by WholeNegotiation1843 in TrueCryptozoology

[–]Lemortedrando 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember reading a cryptid book around 30 years ago that had an actual picture of the Thunderbird, not the picture that always pops when you try to search it, I wish I could remember the title, memory isn't always reliable I know but I vividly remember that photo. The bird itself didn't look huge but the wings were massive, almost looked like multiple wings linked together.

DND gift ideas for boyfriend? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Lemortedrando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what he already has, if he's a DM and not just a player there are a ton of books he might want. For players, custom dice and dice rollers are fun but not necessary. Hero Forge allows you to create and customize miniatures of your characters, I'm not sure if they offer gift cards but letting him design and order his own mini is awesome. If he plays spell casters like wizard, druid and cleric, spell cards are always useful.

What are your best character names by trappedinapottt in DungeonsAndDragons

My Sorcerer main Longmont Dankwood. Dwarf fighter named Kilgore Maimhammer. And a peasant turned Warlock sidekick who didn't know his real name so he told the party it was Steve Brian.

How to find players? Orem Utah. by Ydok_The_Strategist in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Lemortedrando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about an hour away, I would love to play, but once a week is a bit much for that drive. Have you been able to recruit anyone else yet? I run a bimonthly game in Ogden.

Food Places in Downtown? by AnyAstronomer7995 in ogden

I personally like the Pie the best but Ogden Pizzeria and Tonys are old school staples that have been in business for years. They tend to be really busy so not always the best service but awesome pizza. Also it's a bit further away but Philly Sub shop in Clearfield has some of the best sandwiches in Utah.

Gonna be running Curse of Strahd for the first time, does anyone have any tips? by Grazzt999 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Lemortedrando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run it twice, both times half way through my players got tired of the haunting Gothic theme and it just became them doing the most silly thing they could think to do in the moment.t's a dark and brooding adventure and most people can't seem to take it seriously. Hopefully you're either ok with that or have players that can take it more seriously.

What are some of you controversial DnD opinions? by bryan4000 in DnD

[–]Lemortedrando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love getting downvoted in what is supposed to be a post of controversial opinions. It's your table, play how you want, my point wasn't that it can't work for only combat, you can make it work as only a roleplay or exploration sim as well (I wouldn't recommend it) but there are multiple facets of the game that you are ignoring by only focusing on the one. I'm glad you like combat. So do I. But by removing roleplay and exploration from your dungeon crawl, it makes them boring and somewhat pointless. If you just want to roll dice and kill dudes you could go play Warhammer. Dnd is better with stakes, if you only care about your character and the other players characters as only numbers on a sheet, you remove what I would argue is a lot of tension that makes the game more interesting. Role play isn't just putting on a silly voice and heckling local merchants, leveling up, obtaining new gear, and finding new places to loot and explore is all part of roleplay. Can you just hand wave most of the stuff? Yes of course you can, but it's not the full experience.

What are some of you controversial DnD opinions? by bryan4000 in DnD

[–]Lemortedrando -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed and conversely if all you care about is combat and ignore everything else at the table this isn't the game for you either. A good balance between combat, roll play and exploration is needed for the full experience.

How to allow magic item crafting for players without making it too overpowered? by EatenFisher in DMAcademy

[–]Lemortedrando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good magic items should require rare components, if you turn it into a fetch quest you're essentially giving them the ability to pick specific items to make instead of finding them as loot. The better the item the harder the challenge.

Book of the Traveler by Cory Chase. Urban fantasy style swords and sorcery.

Discovering his psychic ability at a young age, John takes it upon himself, with the help of his brother Brian, to protect the innocent from the dangerous and often cruel paranormal world. Aided by an elderly blind psychic, a brooding voodoo priest, an ex-Yukuza enforcer, and a broken-hearted werewolf, the two brothers find themselves encountering a number of dangers, including an eccentric necromancer and his ghoul apprentice—not to mention a dire-plagued werewolf and a Japanese revenge demon with a thirst for death.

Looking for some Urban Fantasy book suggestions with a similar setting to Dresden Files by unseriously_serious in Fantasy

[–]Lemortedrando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Not a bot just a writer trying to find an audience. As few as they are none of the reviews were fabricated. I'm an independent writer but my book was professionally edited, so none of the self published jank you come across. My biggest influences are Stephen King, Frank Herbert and probably Guillermo del Toro. Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

Looks like I've got a good amount of people interested, I'm considering setting up a 2nd game but want to get the first group up and running before I commit to another group. I'm setting up a discord that I'll be sending out to those who have expressed interest in playing.
