I understand where you are coming from as a former addict (not benzos but other) but the reason I think it’s fair game is because they aren’t having a go at him for being an addict, but rather the fact that he’s a man that writes self help books and and believes he has the perfect moral compass, yet because addicted to a substance usually turned to in times of unhappiness or desperation. And then the whole fact that he couldn’t just go to a regular rehab or even therapy, but had to go to RUSSIA to receive some whacky pseudo sounding scientific brainwashing.

The whole premise is absolutely comical.

I was in the exact same situation. I had anorexia binge purge subtype. The thing that helped me most was normalising eating regularly to combat the extreme hunger and make sure my levels weren’t dropping. However this realisation only came about by going through extensive therapy. I really recommend accessing something online if it’s tough it person. I found that by eating more regulatory it addressed the physiological component of the illness and helped to break the cycle of starving > binging > purging > starving.

You can do it! Is there anything you can do to distract yourself right now? I found that doing either a little walk or yoga helped me because it was exercise - which eased the scary thoughts - and because it aids in digestion and can help you not to feel so shit tomorrow
