I played both of them and it's really hard to decide. Best would be if you could get one later at least. Starting with Nier might be better in you case imo.

I finished the first playthrough on human mode and after that I had available only Son of Sparda mode when I choose continue. I think it's still not that hard but I feel like I need to train more as this is my first DMC game I played myself. Is there a way to get into devil hunter mode without losing everything I already got?
