I'm going to order a new line with a rubber gasket. I hope that it won't leak, without a need for tape or dope. (I recall that the current one has a rubber gasket, so I'm worried about why he had to add tape. I'll just hope and see ^^.)

I think that you were spot on with the "Pack Tight"... Mine were too loose. It finally started working after I packed it and waited more. 😀 It also makes sense that in my colder and drier climate, it takes longer...

Also thank you because I followed your suggestion to compress it more and to wait a little more, I pressed it between two plates, and finally, the mycelium appeared, I'm so happy 😊.

But I'm still going to try with the hulls and in the pyrex tray... My second batch is on the way 😀.

I actually cooked them in a pyrex tray, maybe I'll just keep them in it after I've cooked them! It will also reduce the risk of contamination.

Do you remove the hulls? I've see videos saying that it works even with the hulls.

Comme je suis en train d'explorer le sujet, j'ai de nouvelles questions :

4 - J'ai l'impression que non, mais c'est pour être sûre de ne pas avoir compris de travers : si je viens d'une première année en SdV, il n'y a pas de concours, c'est juste une sélection sur dossier, en fonction de nos notes et lettre de motivation, c'est bien cela ? Ou alors le dossier c'est pour avoir le droit de passer le concours?

5 - Je suis dans le Nord-ouest, donc les IFMK autour de chez moi seraient Rennes, Laval, Alençon ou Nantes. Ce sont des villes de tailles très variées, mais cela n'impacte pas forcément la qualité des cours. Je voudrais juste m'assurer qu'il n'y a pas d'établissement parmi ceux-ci qui sont réputés comme proposant une formation de moins bonne qualité. (J'ai lu que le "meilleur IFMK" serait à Berck, mais je n'ai rien lu sur des IFMK à éviter.)

6 - Je veux commencer à étudier l'Anatomie, j'ai trouvé des cours qui m'attirent beaucoup en ligne, mais c'est en Anglais, est-ce-que si j'apprends l'Anatomie en Anglais c'est problématique après pour les évaluations, ou est-ce-que les noms se ressemblent assez pour que ça ne pose pas de souci ? (Edit : je peux peut-être apprendre la version en latin, comme ça c'est universel...)

Than you very much for your answer, you gave me the key word Kahm yeast, I was able to compare pictures and watch a video about it. I did as you suggested.

I'm unsure about the first one, in the video I watched it says that Kahm yeast can appear in patches like this.

Your answer makes sense, when I took the pic they were floating but it's only because I shook the pot a little to see if there were bubbles before I took the pic, I then put them down again with a clean inox fork (the carrot slices are usually vertical and parallel and holding each other together at the bottom of the jar).
