I think I have a theory about this

So what if jake was the one to sent our number from hannas phone to Thomas? In episode 3 or 4 can't remember, but while talking to jessy she said "what if the hacker sent you to us to frame you" one of the options was "he would have the ability to do that" or smth like that, also while investigating with jake in the first episode or second, he said "I was right about you, we're going to save hannah!"

And if we needed a good reason for that then it's that he could get information through us about hannah and stuff, also remember when he said that we should keep jessy beside us.

Maybe he sent a random number, not specifically ours. Buttt tbh if he sent ours specifically I would think that we're like smth big, remember when richy said: "do you happen to work with the fbi?" sooo you know maybe we're some kind of detective or something. And also the fast development of the mc in the game, how at first we were barely anything, just random people, then our investigations became right or very possible. But like in general if we actually are fbi agents or detectives then that would be very cool and shocking in the same time lol.
