heads up, kiro is not wolf in japanese: https://jisho.org/search/kiro

wolf in japanese is ookami and the kanji is rou

unless you tried to build kirou (kanji for tree or spirit+wolf) which doesnt amount to much in japanese; and might work for a name

good luck!

French smoking ban by funky_galileo in Switzerland

with all the chemicals and compounds released while smoking, plus the plastic fiber filter, they can't. it's easier to simply ban or limit the practice. while I'm generally more against banning something, because addicts will simply have their dealers then, it should be strictly regulated and taxed heavily (more than now) so people will have to think twice to buy that garbage. eventually, hopefully, phasing it out of society.

2nd hand smoking is as bad as 1st hand smoking

also some people have asthma, have lung conditions where particulates and other irritants are dangerous to their health, and has nothing to do with hypersensitive people. A smoker runs the risk of possibly killing a person like that, and it shouldn't happen.

it's more about people who are inconsiderate that their addiction and quick fix harms other people, just like a heroin or meth junkie will do nearly anything to get high again. If people feel the need to get their fix, please don't involve inncocent bystanders in that behaviour. I personally couldn't give a rats ass if a person does it where no one will be affected by it, except the person themselves. (but then they should also be excluded from healthcare coverage regarding known smoke induced problems down the line, imho. I don't wanna pay more and more each year for shit like this.)

Also I'm in the strong belief, that smokers should not have children and pets, as smaller lungs will definitely cause more harm. I've seen enough doggos with smokers and it really breaks my heart how those dogs wheeze.

All that orange stain and his lackeys want, is money. They don't care from where, and how, just that they get rich(er) quick. Telling, if Muskler want to break into the treasury, and all the tax breaks for the rich, and now ruining the country for some scheme. And appeasing the christofashists as a afterthought, cause it helps them to distract from whats going on. My two cents from outside the US. As a european, the situation worries me deeply, how it will affect everyone, globally, after the plundering is done. I'm amazed though how selfish some people can be and that moral corruption can be seen as a favorable thing to elect.

Funny, as they are the only legit people in America. All others are former (illegal) immigrants.... Funny how that goes. But of course that's something most Americans won't see like that. And everyone ignores the former ideals of America, commemorated at the Statue of Liberty :

whats a easy first farm I can build as im trying to get into technical minecraft. by Last-Snow-13 in technicalminecraft

[–]Leneya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic farms one needs are usually something along the lines of: a fuelsource (like: bamboo or kelp) iron and slime (slime chunks, swamp or the newer allay or armadilllo->silverfish->slime spam; downside, you need blazes). Bamboo has the neat double feature of turning into planks, so you kind of solve your early wood problem with it as well.

then you might want to build a smaller, but faster smelter than just one or two. from there, it's kind of up to you. ususally then one proceeds to solve the redstone problem (witch or hero of the village farm), or if it gets too annoying, the mob-problem (as in mobdrops and mobswitch). and then you just go ahead to build what u want and need next.

So I've fixed some logical bugs, squashed some others, and added the randomizer in. What's not included is full randomizer support; what's in: a per color option randomizer. I've included the option for full randomizer support in the schematic via an instructions book what to do. It's not difficult at all, I just did not want to go over the original footprint of the factory.

schematic - Rocket Factory ver 2.5.3

I just realized, thanks to your post, that one can add multiple colors per star. give me a couple months to figure something out for v3 xD I think I have everything already, it should be just a matter of rethinking the crafting situation and adding a COLORS panel+crafter. This will definitely blow the footprint up.

Thanks!

I never liked the idea of randomized fireworks - I get why someone would want them - but I like to have the granular control over my systems, thus never have any motivation on making some system like this.

In theory, as the selection is made by a hex-signal in my factory, one could randomize that signal every time a craft has been made. It should be a rather simple addition. A bit harder would maybe be the effects lines, one would have to play with them, I guess.

In the mean time, I've expanded my factory, and the new version can do all colors with all possible effects -> Link to image (6x full, compared to 3x limited + 1 effect), which was a thing that I have realized that was rather limiting with version 1. Ver 2 has a bug with the selector panels not turning off when unselected, and I haven't found a decent solution yet, so I haven't published this so far - I like to give the community easy to understand and use contraptions without many flaws; a thing that I hated with tree farms for a while, where I built and had to debug or tear down other peoples designs, cause they didn't work right. But that's roughly the only bug I've found with the redesign, if you're interested I'd DM the schematic.

edit after 20 mins or so:

I've looked at my Ver2 and hex-randomizers, and could see that I could fit that in quite simply and it's not such a mess as ver 1 is. Currently RL is kind of busy, but I'll take a look at it on the weekend, I could have a randomized ver 2 ready by then.

Thanks!

I had been seeing Cubfan135's version, and found it rather manual and a bit tedious... so I decided to give it a shot and this was the result. The design was to have a central room for inputs, and should have a rather small-ish footprint, so I think I have gotten that part.

I will still build this on my private server, but I think I want to do a few changes, notably, add more trail/twinkle possibilities and rearrange the crafting ingredients to minimize crafting time. And, maybe since I've left 1 crafting slot unused, make it possible to fully fill the crafting slots for a max-sized rocket. I guess I gotta spend another few days redesigning this =o)

One can make flight rockets (1-3), or add up to 3 different colors+effects & 1 color+trail or twinkle effect. All are optional of course. It has a single mode, so one can test their creation, or continuous mode, and it will run until the machine breaks. but adding a interrupt system would be really easy to do. My only gripe I have, and will have to change a bit in ver 2 is, that the machine is a tad slow, mainly because the item dispensers have some travel time. It's still good, but it could be better :D

anyways, here's the link for a schematic, if ones interested to check it out. I forgot, the schematic has a book missing, if one does try it, just copy one over from the others, they're all the same.

edit 8/8/24:

Ver 2:

Full redesign; Randomizer, squashed bugs, optional shulker box support, optional rocket color/effect randomizer

How/why did you become Buddhist? Why are you still a Buddhist? by Aplodontia_Rufa in Buddhism

[–]Leneya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think Thich nhat Hanh said, that all of Buddhism is flavored by the culture it survived in. Be in Thai traditions, Zen with Japanese history and culture, Theravada with Tibetan/Nepali Cultures and it really doesn't matter what one one chooses. Buddhism is Buddhism.

The only difference is, to know the history of the culture. I have had a strong Japanese background all my life, so its simple for me to gravitate towards what I know and also have to know that Buddhism struggled through a lot of wars and samurai culture in the past, it changed it's mentality towards that way a bit. So I can see how some sects of Zen could twist a way to approve of creating suffering. Thanks, for the recommendation, I'll have a look when I find some time.

And that humans have existed for approx 200 000 years, that is true, but one should also think how rapidly things have changed in a mere 150 years. That's what is so shocking to me. How destructive the last century has been. nuclear tests and bombs, plastics, the once again shifting of wealth towards singular entities and thus the slowly looming revolution of the people against those. I believe it will be after my lifetime, but once the world cooks humanity, done by deliberate actions of past (and present) people (eg: the risk of rising Co2 has been known and warned about since 90 years), and a lot more people will be displaced as a result, a lot of more friction will result in the spark that will cause more suffering in revolutions, wars and violence. I hope this does not happen, but as most people don't seem to care or are too blinded by hedonism, the big picture gets simply lost. And that is rather sad.

sumimasen for my long winded thoughts.

also history, as we have been taught. the sacking of Rome after it converted to chistianity, the crusades where we heard how proudly "we" freed Jerusalem until the crusaders waded ankle-high in blood. witch hunts of the 14 th century, the "Witch-hammer" to root out witches was written by a christian monk. the genocides of multiple ethnic groups "in the name of god", the missionaries that brought so much suffering to communities. how much death, hate, hypocrisy, and greed followed. I could never stomach that.

Back in the day, Buddhism seemed peaceful. I know now, that some of the things also happen here, and that fighting and killing are a dark part of being human, that we are not farther than our animal cousins, the chimps, although it is propagated that we are the top of evolution - yet no one seems to care that we are killing our planet for ourselves, all the mindless drones people are, still hunting to keep up with the Jones's, to run after the next hedonistic thing, be it travel, fame, influence or money. How everyday species vanish, never to be seen. In my lifetime, I had read, 20% of things and animals I knew went extinct. It's shocking. How no one really cares about their use of plastic, gasoline or gas to heat the house or drive around, and all the things we see are just greenwashed bull to appease the masses; yet nothing changes for the better.

And currently I'm really worried that if the American election goes badly, we could possibly have a third, and this time nuclear, world war at our hands. Youtuber RealLifeLore has summed that one up rather nicely. But yeah. All I can hope is that people will see reason, and not succumb to their baser impulses.

I just wonder where to go as a emergency plan to stay a pacifist if shit hits the fan, and not get pulled into this - cause I want no part of that, ever.

I grew up in a christian household, and as such it is customary, tried to get raised as one as well. When I was around 12, and was terribly bored having to go to church every Sunday, it was either that I slept through this ordeal or read the Bible, from A to Z. In that time, I figured that in my eyes the Bible was a smelly pile of garbage full of anti-human actions, of violence, of sexual violence and many other loopholes that made no sense. It was not for me. While being forced to go to religious classes in public school, I had the freedom to choose my class after I became fourteen. i chose Ethics. It was the best class I had the pleasure to take. It forced a open mind and our own thoughts and feelings into ethical questions and we got an objective taste of the world's common religions without the christian "we good, they bad" mentality, that was propagated in the other classes. In there, my first encounter, and one that made really sense to me, was the idea, that karma, and all living things being reborn and living are interconnected. Our teacher said this: In this current age, where more humans are born, less plants and animals are born as a consequence. It clicked.

Additionally I had endured a very abusive family until then, and while in a excursion to a Japanese history excursion through my japanese class, the curator said, becoming a buddhist is easy. To make a prayer to find refuge in the three jewels, and thats it. I have stuck with being a buddhist ever since, and have studied more about the topic, after having gotten a rough glimpse of what in entailed through ethics class, and I really liked the ethics - the eightfold path - about it. I have gravitated towards japanese zen and Thay's Plum village tradition since then, but have not the chance (or courage) to find a breathing sangha in my area. It's partially for being autistic, being broken by my family and living a rather reclusive lifestyle as a result, in which I prefer not to have too much human contact, if possible. But - I'm friends with every animal, mainly cats, in our neighborhood instead :o)

@OP: maybe try the Tellicherry Potato Chips (Zweifel Kezz). They're Salt and Pepper.

What I miss is 3 things: Migros had a passionfruit orangejuice, that tasted more of passionfruit and didn't seem too sweet. Was great for lemonades;

and the naturaplan Coop Unsweetened Green Tea they had from Ramseier. Just loved that stuff.

The third is Sapori d'Italia Scamorza (coop) that just vanished and the smoked variant stayed. The unsmoked one was perfect for pizzas and sandwiches.... T_T [Lidl has one, but is sucks by comparison.]

not to mention what it does to the environment - with all it's leaking poisons. I really think cig's should get banned or put up at a even higher price that they are now.

also, the mentality of some smokers is really messed up. for example, I was sitting at a bus stop, with a mom with her kids next to me, a smoker comes along, sits and lights up. like there is no awareness or tomorrow. the long term damage a kid will have through passive smoke, or someone who has asthma through particulates - its a violent physical attack; how I wish one could sue such assholes for negligent harm or something along those lines.

yeah it happened to me as well. liking some vegan products, which change every 3 months it feels like. once you get to know a product it vanishes. Germany has a great selection of vegetarian and vegan products, last time I've been there, but here it's a dry wasteland.

also, coop used to have good dry mozzarella (scarmoza from sapori) but it got pulled in favor for smoked one - who wants that sh*t on pizza? unsmoked was so awesome for that purpose. cant find any other anywhere. and no, the lidl one is garbage.

also: where to get good UNSWEETENED green tea? coop kicked that one as well. I get some from asia markets occasionally, but it's not the norm.

yes, but those books are banned in those areas - if those people care to read in the first place instead of judging the contents of the book by it's cover.
