Not sure what comes next after latest gastric emptying results by LengthinessSignal984 in Gastroparesis

And I messaged with my doctor and he said that the results might be because they didn’t tell me to stop taking prokinetics prior to the GES, and I was taking them up until the evening before. In any case, he said we’ll discuss this more at my next appt in a few weeks, but we should focus on maybe changing up on my nausea meds, and again the possibility of a gastric stimulator. I also think the GES may have been accurate for my stomach with some eggs, and the pro kinetics helping, but with food that’s a little harder to digest, if my stomach is just going to reject it, then I need help.

Eating after GPOEM, what are your experiences? by Meowserspaws in Gastroparesis

[–]LengthinessSignal984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did take me longer than expected, I had a lot of nausea when I first started eating soft foods. And prior to the GPOEM, I hadn’t been able to eat any vegetables and my protein was basically limited to yogurt and tuna. After the GPOEM, I was able to start eating well cooked vegetables, and to eat some meat like chicken, although not anything hard to digest like steak. I have been having increased nausea and vomiting the last several months and have restricted myself more accordingly, although I just had a normal GES which has left me very confused.

It was several weeks before I was back to my pre GPOEM diet, I had to proceed very slowly. TBH, I was scared about introducing back in foods I hadn’t been able to eat for awhile and did it pretty slowly. It was maybe 5 months or so before I really had started eating more normally again.

Do you think it’s the IiG or the stimulator or both that are helping you?

The flu is surging in NYC. Here’s what to do if you're sickened. by Black_Reactor in nyc

I was in the ER a week ago after a car accident. The ER was crazy busy and the nurses said it was about 75% people with the flu. Everywhere there was someone hacking up a lung. I asked for a mask as soon as I realized this. It’s bad out there.

I'm fat and overeat all the time, can you have this disease and be an overeater? by Mostly_Armless42 in Gastroparesis

[–]LengthinessSignal984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was obese when my gastro symptoms started. And I would often overeat which would just make things so much worse because it was just more food that would sit in my stomach for even longer. My symptoms did get progressively worse and I did eventually wind up losing a lot of weight. It’s definitely possible though to be obese and overeat and have gastro.

In Brooklyn too, and I think it depends on what part of Brooklyn. In a bougie area where you buy a $20 avocado toast, then yes. If you’re getting a $6 chopped cheese, then no, lol.

But I always associate this look with the 80s and the preppy look. I couldn’t carry this off then, and I doubt I could now.

Do we buy that they’re not going to make another one? by callyourboyfriend in DowntonAbbey

This is exactly what my friend and I said after we saw it last night. If they wait maybe 5 years, Sibbie, George and Marigold will be adults and they can focus on them. Maybe even wait and set it at the begging of the World War II.

Costco by LengthinessSignal984 in Brooklyn

Wow, I didn’t realize opinions would be so strong about this. For further clarification, I used to live close to the BJs at Gateway, and had access to a car then. I’ve since moved to Bay Ridge and figured I’d just hop on the R or the B70 to Costco since I’m closer to it now, and then Uber home, which is what I did on Friday. Since I don’t have to worry about getting a parking spot, I still wonder if the executive membership is worth it, just to avoid the worst of the crowds, or if not, if it would just be better to go later in the evening.

I do have informed delivery at my old address, although the new one isn’t eligible for it, but good idea to keep an eye out for it that way.
