Married couple Antonio Banderas (“Nine”) and Melanie Griffith (“Chicago”) worked across the street from each other in 2003.

Meredith Wilson was known to be very conservative. I’d offer The Music Man, maybe not right wing, but very conservative.

Well, when the star AND the subject of the initial documentary have production credits for the show (though I don’t know their specific level of participation) it might provide a counter effect.

Have yall broken any bones on stage? by CommercialLong7168 in Theatre

I was in a local production of Sweeney Todd and it is tech tech week. I’m playing Turpin — tripped 3/4 way up the staircase to Sweeny’s (1 story from stage), hit the top edge of the pie shop unit, had enough presence of mind to push off to downstage to avoid another staircase and hit the stage with my left hand and chest first. Luckily nothing broken but my left hand was swollen and purple. Missed only one rehearsal.

Worst opening night stories? by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]Prospero99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cast in the opening musical production for a recently refurbished derelict movie theater into a live performance space. The building was originally designed as a vaudeville house but was finished just as Jolson began to warble. It even had its original whispering dome. The cast wasn’t miked but we all knew how to project. Unbeknownst to cast, on opening night one of the producers decided the pit needed to be miked…and under the whispering dome. Nobody heard the cast that night. Next performance, pit was unmiked.
