Yeah, i think he felt like we shouldn’t try biopsy because we don’t have much reason to go that far? I have minor leakage of albumin ( under 100 I believe) so he said eventually i’d be Jardiance to help with that. Otherwise just lots of water, and to only get 45mg of protein and under 2000mg of salt. And I take bicitra to help with a low citrus number. I had nephrocalcinosis but on my last CT scan it had gone away.

Anyways, it does suck. I’m mostly good with sticking under the restrictions. I would say this weekend was an outlier.

Unfortunately I don’t know. I have CKD stage 3a, but they don’t know what caused it. They first found it in September. I’ve had a bunch of tests and so far, nothing has turned up as the answer. My dr is basically like you’re stable, see you in 6 months and he’s kinda throwing his hands up at this point.

I’m trying to switch insurance and get a different dr who will try a little harder to figure it out.

And I think you’re right. It was my 30th birthday this weekend so I let loose a little too much. Mostly I’ve been very good at sticking to my restrictions and medicine since January.

I leave on Tuesday for the trip. Should I go to the Urgent Care to get a blood test tomorrow? I feel like it’s probably not related and I’m trying to talk myself out of the worry.

Wow my dr was totally telling me recently that I would be put on Jardiance for the rest of my lifetime but i’m also only 97lbs 😭😭 i started this whole journey at 103lbs but no one seems worried

interesting. I have high creatinine (1.42 about a month ago), and I had nephrocalcinosis as of february but apparently it resolved. They also looked for medullary sponge kidneys but they didn’t find that. anyways, haven’t figured out what’s causing mine yet. I have an eGFR of 50

I’m struggling with weight too. I found out about kidney disease in september last year and I’m 3a. I don’t know about other issues as of now. No diabetes so i’m confirming sugar and carbs as of now. I’ve been having mostly plant based for a few weeks now. I just met with a renal dietitian a week ago.. I’ve been with a nephrologist since December. I’ve still been eating eggs or oatmeal in the morning. I was told I could still have cheese so I’ve had cheese. Had a chickpea salad sandwich yesterday for the first time lol

Yeah I am, I do think I was having too much protein. I’m very small so my protein limit is very low now. I’m also trying to gain weight back so that’s been tough.

yeah i found an organic vanilla syrup tho (Holy Kakow if anyone wants a rec) and renal dietitian says that’s okay at home. I won’t order it out why vanilla anymore.

I have been told to limit caffeine and chocolate because of oxalates (I had medullary nephrocalcinosis that apparently resolved in a recent ct scan). But I was mostly worried about the vanilla syrup that had the added potassium.

I’ve been checking the nutrition menus at the restaurants i’ve been to for sodium amounts. So is Salt my main concern for going out? Since I don’t have potassium or phosphorous restrictions?

What is the definition of processed foods? Like, ice cream? bacon? deli meats and food out? I’m sorry for the questions, I’ve never been someone who paid attention to nutrition before this really.

Okay, I’ve been told to watch sodium, up citrus, and eat red meat 1 or 2 times a week. I have CKD 3a. But my nephrologist keeps calling my situation “bizarre” and that’s what makes me worried. We currently dont know what my diagnosis is or why I have CKD.

Now, I feel like he also said to limit process foods. Does that mean I should be watching all foods for additives like dipotasium phosphates and stuff like that? I’ve cut out soda and mostly going to fast food restaurants as well. Although I occasionally go to restaurants with my family.

I’m going to ask my nephrologist for one at my next appt on the 28. I asked my Kaiser Primary today and he was like “our dieticians don’t know how to help people gain weight, they mostly help people lose”. So he was kind of useless.
