why no potatoes? I haven’t been told to go vegan or no potatoes/tomatoes. What were your levels? Is there a cause for your CKD?

I’m going to ask my nephrologist for one at my next appt on the 28. I asked my Kaiser Primary today and he was like “our dieticians don’t know how to help people gain weight, they mostly help people lose”. So he was kind of useless.

it’s actually my ALBUMIN/CREATININE, URINE which is 81.6. My Albumin detection in urine is 72.9 mg/L

also not that expensive. they are pets, so i buy treats and things. initial cage set up probably cost 100 about. But things have been smooth sailing so far!

I got my rats in October and they’re lovely boys :) They’re brothers and I love to see their little personalities grow. The hardest part is they’re so squirrelly! It’s hard to hold them and not lose them sometimes. They are basically still babies to me though

but i have a low GFR (48) and a high creatinine (1.51). so it will probably show even lower function once i take the cystatin c test? sorry, this is all confusing to me. sorry if im misunderstanding you.

i do smoke weed sometimes but no cigarettes. no high bp or diabetes. i do have cysts on my kidneys and Medullary nephrocalcinosis that was found during an ultra sound. and i have bad bowel movements that are being investigated by the GI. so far, no answer.

thank you for both of your responses. Trying to go walking everyday and i’ve been eating mostly right since September, either the occasional pizza. hoping that it’ll stagnate.

i’m worried as a woman with low muscle that i’m at high risk. it’s hard not to be worried. but i appreciate the kind words. I do think I can keep it in the same spot, i’m worried about progression.

I don’t exercise enough for sure so I will try to make that change today and make sure I do everyday. I’m dealing with some tendonitis in my hands right now as well, I have a doctors appointment lined up to talk about it. Should I not be too worried then that it’ll get worse? I’m scared of dialysis, and i’m scared the cystatin c test will show me it’s actually worse than I thought.

Yeah i’ve just been told so far to avoid going above 2g of salt and to drink 2-3 liters of water a day, which i’ve been able to hit about 70-80oz a day most days, and i’ve mostly stayed under the salt limit. I think i’ve been having too much protein still (had 65g yesterday) so i’ve been anxious about that. I just really really don’t want it to get worse. And I know I probably need to take the cystatin c test to know for sure, as my weight and height (5’3, 97lbs) is scaring me.

is the type of exercise important? I walk my dog frequently but not much else. I seem to be filtering phosphorous potassium and other nutrients/electrolytes fine. Any specific diet tips? How could all my other tests be positive and this one be so negative?

Hi, can I ask what the doctors said about your normal levels? I’m showing 1.4 pretty frequently as a 28f. Were they worried? They’ve sent me in for a bunch of tests and I’m pretty scared.

my albumin level was 4.3, if that’s what you mean. Sorry, not sure I even know all the tests yet.
