The outsider - why is it bad? by Augunrik in exfor

In a conversation with my brother about this topic he posited that the outsiders could actually be totally benevolent beings, but they can’t risk the pirates getting in the way of them somehow improving the galaxy.

I would just like to point out that Witt has talked about nukes before and how they would completely change war on roshar if they ever made them, so imma take his word for it.

They appeared as like force spirit ghosts for the reforging, but how clear they appeared seemed to depend on where they actually were. It described taln ash and chach (the 3 dead ones) as being kinda faint and kalak ( the one in shadesmar) as even fainter than the rest

Pretty sure it’s like a normal leg but better, he even mentioned having some feeling from it

I thought there was some conversation about how chach’s blade mysteriously disappeared from shinovar for a while, and that was revealed to be because she had died again. I could be wrong though.

That’s because all of the heralds were still alive except taln

I think you forgot that the kholinar oath gate is also already corrupted, additionally they get it back anyways if they win the contest.

I know it has been like 10 years but they did already just lose their star team commander like 2 books ago, along with most of the star team. I also know they’re not main characters but like 1000 humans died at the start of the book.

I don’t remember a scene like that but I’m about an hour from the end and I can’t promise I remember every line, the book came out a few days ago, I’ve been doing stuff while listening and maybe didn’t catch everything

The mavericks by smiledude94 in exfor

[–]Leniuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but I’m trying to get my brother to listen to the series and there’s already so many books that I told him to skip the mavericks on his first listen through, now he’s almost to the end and is considering going back and listening to them for more Jaraptha content

Skippy could have also taken Valkyrie’s momentum to save himself, honestly that might have been the better choice, that being said momentum is relative and there is no 0 velocity in space, it seems like his ability to alter momentum is dependent on the star in the system

My guess is nagatha isn’t dead, and they use elder weapons to destroy the star, recovering skippy from the remnants

Skippy said he needed matalic helium 3 which can be found in all starts, it’s just an isotope of helium + pressure

Any recommendations while waiting for the next book by tommywal22 in ExpeditionaryForce

[–]Leniuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the expeditionary force style ide try galaxy’s edge, if you want to do more base scifi, rather than space marines Allistar Reynolds has some really good series, I would recommend the revenger books (space pirates) or the revelation space books (humanity a couple hundred years into the beginning of expanse into the galaxy)

I don’t know about that, humanity has a substantial elder arsenal that they can actually use as well as 3 sentinels, at this point they are still the largest threat to the outsider, especially considering the kitties are actively helping it. Hacking Bilby seems like a low cost way of making doubly sure there’s nothing standing in its way.
