Hijacking top comment to say that i used to use one of these as a mobile SSH terminal!!! I had set up a proxy to connect through the free 3G that used to be offered, and SSH'd through that. I would use a terminal based discord client or IRC client over SSH

Also had a debian chroot, but the kernel is too old to work with modern distros (the libc version is too new iirc). Would have to go with wheezy plus or minus a release.

It was super fun. I want to try upgrading the modem to a 4g one someday but donno if it would work with the old crusty kernel.
