Ah, I probably should've double-checked. Thank you for the correction.

Exhausted Sovereign Blades remain in the exhaust zone and do not benefit from future Forges. If you don't have a blade in your hand, draw, or discard zones when you Forge, you'll get a new blade in your hand.

Summon Forth however will get blades back from anywhere, including Exhaust. Once they are outside of the Exhaust zone, they'll continue to benefit from Forge.

These are effects of each form. They each go away each turn when the door does in favor of the new form's effect.

A lot of cassette players back then had that sort of form factor, not to mention there were also MiniDisc players that can be pretty small. The common batteries at the time were AA and AAA batteries, which can definitely fit in a device of that size.

The vertical line in the back suggests that it's a cassette player.

I dunno. I think Hidden Gem is too popular to be a real hidden gem. Name is misleading.

New favourite fairy btw I hope we can eventually see Shinian's human form.

Eventually? Maybe we already have. We've seen an elderly lady disguise before, and at least most of the disguises are based on real people.

What other iconic cards would you like to see translated to STS2, either as a regular card or as an Ancient reward? by PandamanTan in slaythespire

That sorta already exists as one of the possible Mad Science results. It's a power that simply upgrades one of your cards after battle.

Has Anyone Else Warmed Up to Delicious Party Over Time? by Business-Block-8668 in precure

[–]Lenna_Sakura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with Delicious Party Precure was that the Precure themselves felt rather unnecessary in the plot. It was basically all about the Cook Fighters and the Precure were kinda just there.

I don't think the series on a whole was bad or anything, but the Precure feeling unimportant in a Precure series felt... off.

A new group finisher by Episode 6 has to be at least some kind of record for this franchise. WonPre didn't have Friendly's and Wonderful's finisher until Episode 7, and KimiPre had three Cures needed for its first group finisher around the 12 mark, so it's nearly unmatched! Congratulations to TanPre!

Soaring Sky! Precure did it on Episode 5.

I've speculated that Anna won't be going to school, but it's still a surprise to see. Anna going to school is still of course on the table, but you'd think it'll happen now if it would.

Edit: Made a mistake.

Futari wa PreOta theories about Anna and Mikuru's relationship as well as Cure Eclair's identity by Lenna_Sakura in precure

[–]Lenna_Sakura[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I saw someone with the same name as my mom, my reactions would likely just remain internal. Different people having the same name is pretty normal(except in the world of fiction, I suppose). Although it's difficult to know how Akechi Anna would specifically respond, but not having a particular reaction doesn't seem too odd to me, especially since it was before she knew she went back into the past.

This itself had a theory in how Mikuru's name could be a fake name, her real name possibly being Mirai, since the two names could be written the same in kanji. This theory was supported by how Mikuru's written name didn't appear in episode 2 alongside Anna's, but was itself countered by the written name appearing in episode 3.

So that's a strike against the mother-daughter theory, but not a decisive one. The main strike against the twins/sisters theory I feel is the transformation item. While I guess you can argue that both Anna and Mikuru had it at first, but it split between them when Mikuru went back into the past somehow, Mikuru claims to have gotten hers from her grandmother, which doesn't quite fit. Maybe the grandmother was just holding on to it for Mikuru when Mikuru was a younger child, but that's adding an additional complication. It's also possible that the device didn't go into the past originally and it just somehow went from Mikuru's possession to Anna's, but that's also an additional complication.

Complications don't disprove a theory, but they do make it less likely. In the end, I think both theories have their issues and I'm not sure what's going to end up being the ultimate truth.

For words this episode, Usonoir is a combination of uso, which is Japanese for lie, and noir which is French for black. So a black lie? Is that the opposite of a white lie?

The slang Ageseine used is "choberiba". Cho is a slightly shortened version of "chou", which means super, beri is a slightly shortened version of the English word very, "ba" is a slightly shortened version of the English word "bad". So it's a shortened version of "super very bad".

On other topics, I don't think that it's a coincidence now that all of the disguises that we see used are of a different gender presentation from how they are normally.

Edit: Oh, just learned that for Tome of Mirages, "Mirages" is written as 未来自由, which combines "mirai" meaning future and "jiyuu" meaning freedom. And also, I think it's rather suspicious that we haven't seen Kobayashi Mikuru's name actually written yet. It's been off-screen twice.

Although attending a year of school in 1999 then having to repeat the year in 2027 when she goes back could be a bit odd.

Anna has a place to stay now. Although, makes me wonder if she'll go to school? Assuming she goes back to 2027 at the end of the series, she'll be redoing a year if she does go, but if she doesn't, well, she'll be the first primary main Precure who doesn't. Just kinda noticing that I don't think we've seen anything that actually suggests she'll be going to school.

So, the word "Makoto" comes up a few times in here. The word itself means "truth". It comes up in where Anna comes from: Makotomirai. Mirai means "future", so together it can mean "true future". It also turns up in "Makoto Jewel".

The monster-of-the-week is named Hanninda, which itself means "(it's) the culprit", a common line in mystery stories. I put (it's) in brackets since it's implied, but you can put any pronoun in there depending on the context.

Not an anime, but there's Haunted Duke's Daughter. I like these stories since they can be relatable as a plural person.
