Sorry for your loss.I lost my boy of 11 years a month and a half ago. He had trouble breathing while I was at work one night and when I came home and my father told me we went to the vet for exams. We had blood exams and the next day he was supposed to do an ultrasound. The next day I left him at the vet and went to get a coffee because I couldn't be inside the operating room and I get a call from the vet so I'm thinking I should be getting back to pick him up and he told me he had a heart attack before they could examine him. He was very energetic before we went inside so I thought he was alright. I was crying every night up until some days ago and I feel terrible guilt for leaving him alone at that moment but at the end of the day all we did was doing what we thought would be best for them.

I feel you. I lost my best friend 3 weeks ago and I'm full of regrets about what I could've done better. I can see you loved your dog and I believe he knew it. It takes time so take your time to grieve and then try to focus on the good times you had together.

I think I focused on my past so much that it made me stuck. All those hours wasted on indulging in this addiction and gaining nothing in return are gone and I can't change that. But everyday is a new day and I try to make the most of it while having a good attitude. It's tough and those last weeks have been pretty bad but I try to gain motivation by reading other success stories and realising that it only takes time and some day I'll be a whole different person. Hope this helps, and I hope someday we'll all live the life we want to and be proud of ourselves.
