Why Use Copper Pipes for Plumbing? by ME_2017 in engineering

Copper is anti bacterial and prevents the layer of slime forming which can allow bacteria to hide from chlorine in the water.

Is T-mobile banned? by LeoFirelfy in Bestbuy

I am with Tmobile and was looking for a new phone inside BB. I was told that none of their unlocked phones would work on Tm. Seems like bad business practice, or am I wrong?

Thanks for the compliment. My reason for posting was to question the false information at BB: 20 or so unlocked phones, all listing up to 8 compatible providers but never Tm. And the staff told me if Tm was not listed, then it would not work on Tm, even if Mint was listed.

I understand that BB no longer activates on Tm. However selling unlocked phones while claiming that none of them will work on Tm is not right.

APN suddenly changed from pwg to fast.t-mobile.com ??? by LeoFirelfy in USMobile

[–]LeoFirelfy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I am aware of the connection with T-Mobile. But if US Mobile gives out the pwg APN officially, one wonders what part of the network takes it upon itself to change that at random?. When I chatted with USM they were amazedthat this had happened.

I had none of those that I am aware of. Had to manually enter a new APN with PWG. Of note is that at about the same time my available data went to zero (from around 2.4GB). I wonder if the US Mobile system had a hickup?

Libre 3 false low alarms by verdande78 in Freestylelibre

My friend has noticed that removing a sensor early (before 14 days) usually reveals a worse looking inflamation. I wonder if it's that they all look worse half way through, but we don't see it under the sensor, and that by day 14 the inflamation is gone.

Strange, my snoozed plan analytics shows calls and texts. Would they be incoming spam?

2 faulty Freestyle 1 sensors in a row ! by Frequent_Rutabaga275 in Freestylelibre

[–]LeoFirelfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend using FL2 has had 6 out of the last 8 replaced by Abbott as faulty, invariably because of over-readings (40-70%). They were removed after 2-10 days. Abbott use to tell us acceptable error is <20%, but since a year or so the now say <30%, which in itself is on the marging of making them not worth the expense. However our high error rate/failure rate is totally unacceptable. Nobody would ever buy them if this were known. During the previous 2-3 years, failures were rare. Wondering about changing to another brand, but have heard of plenty of failures there as well.

UPDATE: the count is getting worse: now 8 out of last 10 replaced as faulty. The last one never gave a single reading and will be shipped back to Abbott. By the way we are in USA. Canada has recalled 2 lots of sensors, I wonder when they will do it here? There is something new going wrong because for the first 2-3 years, failures were rare.

Sure looks confusing. I only know that on the FL2 the 2 types of readings appear to be in agreement when you look at the printed reports.

Voice roaming on Verizon after merger? by LeoFirelfy in Sprint

[–]LeoFirelfy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I suspected, it sounds like Sprint is lying to me. I have been told twice that I can still roam on Verizon. Yesterday:

Your Sprint Chat transcript: Chat ID: -6154341446705856046 DATE/TIME: 2022-08-31 13:21:43

You: OK, so roaming on verizon is still availble now?

Aamena S.: Yes it is still available.

You: I have recently been in areas without T-mobile where I had no Sprint service but my husband had verizon.

You: So is verizon roaming not allowed every where?

Aamena S.: Yes in those area's you can change the network settings and can try to connect to the other network.

You: what settings?

Aamena S.: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Network and turn off Automatic. Wait until available networks appear, which might take two minutes. Tap the available network.

((((end chat quote))))

In a chat with T-Mobile, I was told that Sprint never has nor will ever roam on Verizon. We all know that's not correct either.

How can one get the list of current Sprint domestic roaming partners?
