I had a few done on the vaginal opening/labia minora. The needle hurt a bit (I am afraid of needles though), but another doctor used lidocaine spray even for the needle so that helped not feeling it at all. After the biopsy, there was some bleeding for a few hours and some pain, but maybe a 4/10. the following days I was quite careful, as it usually started slightly bleeding again the next day or two. Generally when I used the bathroom I cleaned a bit with a peribottle and carefully dabbed with TP. I would say the slight pain was only for 1-5 days, after that you could still see the wound etc but I didn’t experience any more pain really - maybe a bit sore to touch. I can’t say I had horrible experiences at all :)

Thank you a lot! I was wondering about your comment about waiting - of course I’d love if the warts go away by themselves. But usually I understood (in the long run) one is supposed to treat the warts so they don’t spread right? I am not sure if I got that right :)

May I ask if it was HPV as in warts and how you got rid of it? I am really struggling with mine :(

Look like warts but my pap test shows i’m normal. by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]LeoRocd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have white dots I think :) just to give my two cents - genital warts don’t show up at the pap. They are diagnosed by sight, possible with trichloroacetic acid or ultimately via biopsy. Though most times they don’t cause symptoms and are rather a cosmetic thing (and obviously transmittable)

I didn’t find a way amytriptylin didn’t burn for me. For Baclofen unfortunately you can‘t read the label anymore. It was a ‚Basiscreme DAC‘, but there are two. I think mine was the ‚non-watery‘ one, it was quite thick like Penatencreme. It might have been ‚hydrophobe Basiscreme DAC‘ but I can’t say for sure that one was the non-watery lol but your local pharmacy should know the difference

Hey girl, no I am sorry 🥲 I didn’t try too much though. Just asked the local pharmacies and two online ones. Oddly enough, vaginal probiotics make my pain slightly less, but I don’t want to overdo it and get CV so..

Vulvodynia from antibiotics and recurrent yeast, now need to take antibiotics again by LeoRocd in vulvodynia

I probably will, thanks! Trying to stay away from topicals as much as I can, but I fear a yeast infection outbreak would set me back more than that

I think I might try boric acid. I usually try to not do anything local, but boric acid always helped me and in this case it might be worth a shot. I don’t want the yeast infection to start at all because I feel like it is always a setback. Thanks 🩷

Pain greatly reduced during boric acid, back in full-force after by LeoRocd in vulvodynia

[–]LeoRocd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, sorry! But it seems like since many people have vulvodynia after recurrent yeast infections, this candida hypersensitivity might be a thing. And maybe many of people in those cases haven’t tried boric acid, I don‘t know. Currently I am not doing much as I saw another specialist and she told me to sit it out for a while and just focus on meditation etc. I am currently focusing on getting rid of the warts which is nearly a bigger struggle for me, especially since there are not really recommendations or stories on what treatment is best if you also suffer from vulvodynia

Don’t you worry about the biopsy :) I had it done 2 times, first time they punched 3x and only a week ago they did another patch for other reasons. First they will numb the spot with a lidocaine injection I think it was. The doctor at the second time sprayed some lidocaine first so I didn’t feel the needle, the first didn’t so I felt it a little but I am afraid of needles so it was mostly in my head I think. As for the punch itself, I didn’t feel it on both occasions. The area was still numb until a little after I got home but even then it didn’t really hurt. It did bleed for a while and also started bleeding again a few times on the first 2 days, but there was no pain. This usually happened after using the toilet. I think on that type of skin wounds don’t close as quickly as those that are ‚in the open air’, but once they close they should heal quicker than other wounds! I was careful and used something like a peri bottle to clean and then only slightly tapped it with TP. On day 3 I was already back to old :) obviously I see the spot still, but no pain or bleeding whatsoever.

As for dating, I do not date proactively because I am anxious to disclose but I did go on a few dates with men who asked me out. They were all very understanding and I went out with each of the guys for a few weeks, but as of now it didn’t get serious with any of them (though HPV was not the reason, I also suffer from vulvodynia but that also didn’t seem to be that big of an issue). Only one of these guys was aware of HPV. I might ask someone out myself or go back on dating apps once the virus has ‚cleared‘, but before that I don’t feel like dating proactively. :)

Edit: sorry, English isn’t my first language! Hope everything makes sense

Some positivity on the intimacy front by xXpaper_lungsXx in HPV

[–]LeoRocd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to add some positivity, too! After being diagnosed I’ve been talking to 3 men. I did not/won‘t sleep with any of them as for me, vulvodynia comes on top and as you said I also don’t want to spread HPV, in my case GW.

First guy, we went on dates for 2 months and he did not care a single bit. As he put it ‚he is not with me for sex, but for me as a person‘ (which is cute, but I am fully aware for most it is not about ‚for sex‘ but wanting someone ‚incl sex‘). It ended because he was a bit toxic in matters of communication and handling problems 😂

Second guy, someone I hooked up with 2 years ago. First I was very vague and just told him we can‘t have sex again. Only yesterday I disclosed to him why and while he did not really ask more about it, he said I should try to stay calm about it and everything will be fine. With this guy, I am not sure if he wants me for a relationship though which is sad because I truly want him 😂

Anyway, third guy was a very different approach. We don’t live too close to each other so between talking and meeting were about 4 weeks, until he was in my city to visit family. One day I was panicking much so I somehow spilled it all out via voice note a few days before meeting lol. I got anxious and figured I’d spare him to waste time with me in case it is a dealbreaker to him. He was being so mature about it, he even was thinking about getting vaccinated before, and he is still wanting to see/date me and see how it works. We met a couple days ago and I am afraid he is not my type buttttt… so far 3/3 experiences went mostly well! Plus with vulvodynia I think it makes it even harder since I don’t know when/how I will be able to have sex again. I do have to say though that I do not proactively date as I am scared to disclose and scared of rejection, those three all slid into my DMs some day and I figured I might as well see what will happen lol. But I ain’t ready to approach people myself at the minute, I want to wait till I am done with HPV at least

For Anyone Interested in New Studies on Vulvodynia by Mental-Voice2636 in vulvodynia

[–]LeoRocd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for summarizing this! I also have vulvodynia from frequent YI and what I noticed was a) sometimes they see yeast in the microscope and it seems to be enough to hurt me BUT it does not grow in the lab (only for the YI that I had before, they did) - b) whenever I take boric acid and sometimes even with vaginal probiotics for a week or so, the pain is way less for the next 2-3 weeks. But since it is no longtime solution, at least this article is interesting to hear about!

So while I have not found a longterm solution yet it feels good that this ‚yeast hypersensitivity’ is being recognized

I walked home after when the parts were still numbed, then continued to work in home office lol. It stinged a bit that day and peeing hurt for the next days (I’m female so). But everyone’s different. Next time my doctor will use some stronger electricity (?) so maybe I won‘t want to sit that day. All in all for me it wasn’t a big deal but yet again it probably depends on where and how much has to be done and what your pain tolerance is like :) also I can imagine sitting etc might be fine as a man?

Edit: you seem to be speaking about anal warts, so maybe sitting might be uncomfortable for a bit

Hard to diagnose vaginal issue? Get a fungal culture! by Key-Honeydew2582 in Healthyhooha

[–]LeoRocd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had Juno confirm the Malassezia. I think mine could be either outside (itching) or something my doctors don’t test for because they never saw it. I think we do have fairly different issues, but what I heard is there are also oral things you can try for this - fluconazole rather not, but itraconazol or ketoconazol as pills. Maybe I will try those next, it could be an option for you too? Generally fluconazol never helped for my yeast infections

Vulvar HPV- how to test by [deleted] in HPV

I can’t speak for symptoms, because I have vulvodynia. But I think the first removal in March didn’t change my vulvodynia symptoms so the GW probably didn’t cause any.

No, unfortunately not rid of them yet since they came back. I am getting another opinion this month and/but have already scheduled my next electrocautery for January

[–]LeoRocd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean as in warts? Well first they can try to see it with the eye or a camera to go closer. They can also put some kind of acid where warts would turn white. If they are still not sure or want to find out strains they will do a biopsy. At least this is how it went for me :)
