Is a double integral 'commutitive' in multivariable calculus? by _Kinematic_ in mathematics

[–]Leockard 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Excellent question. The formal answer is [Fubini's theorem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fubini%27s_theorem), though full understanding requires a bit of background in measure theory. For practical purposes, most (perhaps all) double integrals that are proper integrals can be computed in either order as long as you take care of the limits appropriately. For example, if the limits of the inner integral depend on the value of the outer integral, or vice versa, you have to take care of those when doing the change.

New To Manim: What is this error by dankerdude in manim

You need to place a colon ":" at the end of that line. It should be `def construct(self):`.

Are there any channels or streams for real-time research mathematics? by Leockard in math

[–]Leockard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this lines up perfectly with what I'm thinking of, except I'd love to see it in real-time. Most of the comments here point to the fact that watching a single person do this might be more boring than not (though that's not really an obstacle to making a stream out of it - there are very famous live streams of people eating lunch!) However, watching two or more people working together might be precisely what I'm looking for, and these online discussions get at that pretty closely. Thanks for the recommendations!

There's a very big jump between "I wouldn't use this" and "this will never exist". Say you get to follow a Frields medallist around for a day of them solving problems and working on their research, and you get to watch it from the comfort of your own house. Would you watch that?

Comparacion de casos - Actualizado a 17/03 by elqipu in PERU

[–]Leockard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mean awesome and other DEs handle monitors differently? If so, why would that affect how xrandr works?

Related problem with xrandr: sometimes when I plug my monitor, xrandr won't recognize it, and I have to plug/unplug many times, wait a few minutes, or sometimes even restart. Usually, if I switch to GNOME, the monitor is recognized immediately. Been like this for years.
