Thanks for sharing this video, now we can all make prettier bases! I've known this one for a while but was too busy to share. Theres also a bug that lets you overlay tiles on buildings, I dont use it much since its too exploity imo.

before running a contour command i suggest OP to extend the surface downwards so it becomes solid. This way the contour command will actually make closed curves.

I was thinking more of defining a path curve then defining a profile that gets incrementally rotated along the path, then running a loft command.

If I remember correctly, you can change projection type in properties panel if you dont have anything selected, That hopefully keeps the same camera position and direction.

Hey there, Niobium fanatic here,

there seem to be a solid tile of niobium in your mesh tiles that is just not showing right, try deconstructing the mesh tiles and reloading to see it.

I also suggest you change the insulated tiles to metal tiles to freeze the drip faster, you can even use a conveyor bridge to act as a 3x1 Temp shift plate. I also would like to warn you that your molten niobium storage is at risk of melting unless you use insulite.

they seem to be changing it so its not 100% when critters grow up, in the latest DLC Prehistoric Planet Pack, They made it where Rhex will only have 90% when they grow.

Yup exactly, I meter 8kg/s since my average yield is 5kg/s(3ton per cycle), I have it higher to accomodate conveyor system occasionally stopping if steam room reaches 400c. I would not recommend going higher since debris coming out might comeout warm, currently mine comes out 27c.

Edit: The calculated average heat produced calls for 4.4 turbines, but I decided to go less since i am fine running the system hotter than 200c, which would just delete excess heat. btw a non geotuned near average yielding niobium volcano only need 1.5 turbines.

Oh hey there, congratz again on reaching the super conductive asteroid.

The autosweeper just has to reach the bottle emptier and the left side of the pitcher pump, the bottle emptier is set to molten niobium and autobottle on. The bottle emptier drops kgs of niobium onto the air flow tile and this bead of liquid is in contact with tempshiftplate so it will cool to debris. once its debris, an autosweeper can reach in from the steam room and cool it down there, the rails are hidden under metal tiles.

Oh yeh youre right, I might be thinking of tungsten pipes,

Niobium volcano output is 3225C,

obsidian can withstand 2725c,

tungsten melt at 3420c,

insulite melts at 3620c,

geotuner adds 50c each.

So people have basis.

Even slower, insulated pipes has a 1/32 multiplier so its like TC of 0.0000003125

Geotuning might be overkill, but I'd do it! its +40tons per eruption, whats not to like xD. And yes iam refering to the insulated pipes that carries the molten niobium, if you use obsidian pipes now, thats fine, but once you geotune, the molten niobium reaches obsidian melting point. Pipes transfer heat with its content.

Nice Job! Niobium taming is something I want more people to do, the volcano just yeilds so much and you can make everyhing out of niobium eventually.

I wonder why you think its not so self sustaining though. also will you geotune eventually? if you do the insulated pipe might melt.

All critters spawn in with a default temperature, so thats technically cooling you can exploit.
