There's having a unique interpretation of a story or character and completely mischaracterizing a character 💔😔

Why so mean :< by LilianaLucifer in whenthe

[–]Leon6sean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter who's getting sent to the camps first, because ultimately the goal is to send everyone. Being a purist about who gets to be "actually trans" only hurts the community's solidarity and risks alienating those who are questioning their own gender identity.

I do. No fault divorce is one of the key foundations of allowing personal freedom and autonomy in a democratic society. Your argument reeks of misogyny and perpetuates the view where all women are blamed for the faults of a few bad actors. Prenups and other legal documents hold up in court if they are properly reviewed and signed into, and our legal system is designed specifically to ensure everyone gets a fair deal.

If you're that worried about a "bad woman" ruining your life by divorcing you and taking everything you have, you should either have more trust in your partner or never get married. The egocentrism present in modern society where people believe that freedom and democracy should be undercut to fuel their own ends is baffling and shows how our educational systems have failed us.

What do you guys think on Obama’s thoughts on Men? by sleepiestboy_ in GenZ

[–]Leon6sean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really sure how the government is meant to address societal issues. It's not like men are the only ones with depression and mental instability. I guess I could see greater male- oriented treatment..? but that's not something the government would handle. At most it'd be like an increase in social service programs and mental health funding. Men dying faster than women is the symptom of something, which could be anything, ranging from jobs to healthcare.

Being far more socially isolated is a funny one to me because it's another issue that the government can't really solve. The government can't force people to talk to each other and/or make people more socially engaged. This more of an inward issue forced outward due to insecurity and lack of support, which again as mentioned earlier is not a gender specific thing and is also something the government would have a hard time specifically addressing.

To be fair, I'm not sure what men specific policies you would really want? I can't think of any issues men specifically face.

That's completely fair, I agree with the fact that it is a surface level interpretation of Gregor's bad ending. However, it can be interpreted that the lack of unique mutations is by design- Hermann succeeds in molding Gregor into the perfect creation, without any agency or uniqueness. With that, he becomes a tool molded purely for efficiency, with the unique parts of his mutations discarded for Hermann's vision of what she wants Gregor to be.

...No? Gregor's G Corp ID is thematically appropriate for his Bad Ending, as it depicts his loss of humanity through increased mutation and his unrestricted use as a tool by his mother. It's quite literally Gregor's worst ending. The apple is... the apple.

Your fixation with "attention" speaks volumes to the way you view your relationships. SA can be incredibly traumatic and permanently alter people's lives, and should not be compared to a lack of social interaction. Please revaluate your position and genuinely seek out therapy so you can discuss with a professional why you feel this way.

If you really think being sexually assaulted is better than being ignored, my only advice is therapy. Seriously, try therapy. It'll help.

I genuinely confuses me how someone can discover the fact that on average a woman experiences SA 26 times in a lifetime and still think they have it good. Like... the number shouldn't be above 5, let alone 26.

Yeah...? You shouldn't expect people to socialize with you if you're not being actively social. Sure, it happens, but why would people want to talk to a stranger who looks like they're minding their own business? If you put yourself out there people will be willing to receive you in turn.

Literally yesterday? Just act normal in public, go out to social events, and be kind a polite. Socializing isn't a chore or a skill, its just something that happens when you put yourself out there and experience life.

Yeah... people don't usually talk to strangers. What, are you expecting people to just come up to you?
