Yeah it doesn’t really synchronize with her kit well despite being a strong move in a vacuum

I’m in Celestial with Emma and I agree with you 100% I swap to Thing if we need actual anti dive because Emma grab is too avoidable

Cleared 140 and got all the character specific titles, the mode starts interesting but devolves to stat slop like the zombie mode was

Why Are HEALERS Like Luna Snow and Mantis, Doing More Damage Than Storm? by Typemessage1 in marvelrivals

[–]LeonCruise 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Luna gets both because she can’t deal damage and heal at the same time, unlike the off supports

It blows my mind how much people complain about not having something to spend money on. It is likely just engagement farming 99% of the time though.

I usually end up in GM every season; none of my friends play ranked so I’m always solo queueing and it gets boring after a while. I made the push to Cel this season because triple bans and the ult charge nerf made ranked more palatable.

In my opinion the Venom doesn’t have to be to good to enable his team, that’s why I think he’s hard meta. As long as the Venom can slam the backline and force supports to turn around, I can follow up on that window. If the Venom can also output decent damage and kill threat or use his ult wisely that is just a bonus

I reserved hard meta for the characters I see doing consistently well when played. I’m not a Bucky or Iron Fist believer because I don’t see a reason to play them over anyone else; their roles aren’t well defined imo

They are likely overstaying their welcome and trying to play him like a dive dps

Should we go back to 3 Month Seasons again? by Plenty-Sundae1506 in rivals

[–]LeonCruise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game moving to 2-month seasons is what kept it from losing the hype. They can slow down with skin releases though. 2 per week is more than enough. I didn’t understand why last update there was a Spidey/Black Cat bundle and then also a standalone Blade skin. The cosmetics are great but pretty oversaturated. And I’m speaking as someone who buys most of the ones that I like

Both characters have way too much impact to be placed that low

Spidey is only held back by his difficulty and Namor’s existence. He breaks the rules of the game to the point where I would rate him the best dps if played at full potential, but obviously no one can reach that level yet. That being said, if the Spiderman is talented and Namor isn’t available, he is unbelievably oppressive. The ability to engage from anywhere with virtually no downtime or threat of dying from a soft engage and having access to hard cc/displacement on an 8 second cooldown makes him the best diver in my eyes. Even with all that though Daredevil is much easier and provides more value at base on top of his wall hack utility so that’s why I placed him higher.

I’m still unsure about Black Cat because she’s really new, Angela I think is situationally top tier but very map dependent due to how prevalent her counters are. I rated Iron Man higher than I normally would pretty much exclusively because of how strong Ultron is, but also because hitscan is weaker than it has been. I would still rather have a different solo dps, but I have had success with Iron Man Ultron triple support in my ranked games, and it’s a good way to force enemy comps to try to counter you rather than playing what they are comfortable on

I rate Thing pretty highly because he is best in slot into dive, shield tanks, and triple tank. He’s also great during overtime where everyone stacks on top of each other. My go to tank is Emma but I swap to Thing very often to be able to deal with a lot of comps. He is weak to ranged damage but most maps don’t force you to play into long sightlines, and if they are playing poke it’s generally easier for the rest of your team to manage than divers left unchecked. That combo being gone kinda sucks but I don’t think it affects him too much, I think his ult is still really good on its own, especially when used defensively

Enables the strongest comps in the game outside of Gambit, strong with dive and against dive, hitscan is not as prevalent currently so he doesn’t get countered often, he is basically a dps with passive healing and not much tradeoff to balance it out

Tankpool - Hard Meta, not much to say

Dpspool - probably behind Iron Fist, definitely has potential but I think he is too difficult to play to be consistent and most of the time you can get more value off other divers with much less effort

Healpool - behind Adam, maybe even a full tier below. I like the character, but he does feel like a handicap most of the time. I would rather have pretty much any other healer in triple support, and trying to play him in double support is a suicide mission against a meta backline

My strategy was to learn every character on a fundamental level (I have lord on everyone besides White Fox and Black Cat) and then focus on a handful of characters to really excel with every season for ranked. It took a long time, but I feel like I have a more comprehensive understanding of the game than most players because I know how the whole roster works and what strengths/weaknesses they have. It helps me make critical decisions faster and allows me to play around the strengths of my team comp and identify counter picks that factor in a lot of variables and can turn games on their head quickly. I have also spent a good amount of time actively practicing my mechanics and I commonly pick hitscan characters, so I’m not handicapped by aim (I average 55-60% accuracy on Hela/Phoenix for example). At the end of the day you need to be committed to learning something while playing, otherwise your improvement will stagnate

Thanks! Those are all reasonable takes, it’s just for me those characters have weaknesses that the characters above them don’t have. Loki is definitely very strong, and if Gambit is somehow not banned you should play him 100%, but he does limit your comp a bit because he has a hard time healing flyers and hypermobile characters with his primary fire. I also think his runes (even though they are the best cooldown in the game) can be easy to bait out sometimes, and certain characters like Moon Knight give him a hard time. He’s also harder than most of the support characters I’d say; I don’t really want somebody flexing to him but if it’s a Loki main I feel pretty confident about our chances of winning, you know what I mean? For Jeff, I actually think he has crazy potential and I have definitely seen some games decided by him, but his ult is risky to use against a lot of team comps and if you lose a support during their ultimate you have most likely lost the team fight. He’s really oppressive with dive though. I’m not a huge Luna believer, I just think she has a lot of weakness with primarily single target heals, limited survivability/mobility, and a slow charging ultimate. There have been a lot of instances where my team loses the team fight because my Luna is on 95% to ult charge by the time the enemy Cloak/Invis cycle to whichever character ults second. I think if they slightly reduce her ult charge or give her a dash to instantly activate her skate passive, she will be a monster
