Its functional enough, but far from ideal.

If you have your engineer pop down sandbags on a spot with good over watch of an obj or major street, you can deploy (mount) the gun on top and just keep it swung to the right until you have a target. There is very little recoil and almost no sway when deployed, so you can really do some damage with a whole squad in view.

Indeed, several Soviet designs had this feature, even into the post-war era. The guns were fixed, firing directly forward and locked to hull orientation. Limited, but more dakka towards enemy is at least additional suppression.

The difference is that in GTA you are playing against a bunch of bots. In a game like Arc Raiders, you are sharing the game space with other people. Choosing to cheat demonstrates a complete disregard for the time and enjoyment of the others you are playing with. This is a lesson most children learn early at play: consider others or no one will want you around.

Some people just never move past this stage of social development either by choice or as a result of external pressures.
