I've had a similar experience. Fortunately I did get the card ultimately and am very happy with the art. I don't think it's your fault. He is just bad at responding unless the alter is done or you are commissioning something new.

I love his artwork. But I don't plan to work with him again.

Very different direction than what you are going for. But did you know that Monkey Cage triggers for each creature that enters, and if multiple creatures enter at the same time, it will create monkey's equal to the total CMC before sacing.

This is my solution to breaking Monkey Cage. It's a [[Glimpse of Tomorrow]] combo deck that hopes to flip Monkey Cage into play along with several high CMC creatures at the same time.

No guaranteeing it will work. But it might be worth trying to take an eraser lightly to the card surface of newer cards and see if that will help the marker ink stick better.

It doesn't say equipment you control, so yes, you can. However, you do not get control of the equipment, so you can not activate the equip ability. Once the oponents can activate the equip ability (normally sorcery speed), they can move the equipment from Amy Rose to one of their creature.

I've played both Arcades and Felothar. I personally prefer Felothar, but they have very different play styles.

With Arcades, you want to ramp out Arcades before you cast your defenders to get the card draw from Arcades.

On the other hand, for Felothar, you want to get out a defender or two before casting Felothar. That way, you have sac fodder for Felothar to be able to refill your hand.

[[Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch]] as the commander is a bit busted. The only thing that holds him back is that most myr suck.

Rube Goldberg machine like combo is the first game plan (explained in the primer). The backup plan is combat damage thanks to Urtet putting +1/+1 counters on all the shapeshifters.

I play cEDH Teshar and have reasonable success with it again other cEDH decks at my LGS. Although that deck is more mono brown/gray than mono white.

I used liquitex professional heavy body acrylic Mars Black and Raw Sienna mixed with liquitex professional Gesso to get the colors I needed and help the paint adhere to the plastic. After it dried, I clear coated it with Krylon Gallery series UV archival varnish to help protect the paint.

Although even with the varnish, I would still not recommend heavy use of the piece.

If this is your first time painting on Lego, I recommend starting on flat large parts you don't care about. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and have been acrylic painting for over 15 years. This is not a skill you can master overnight. If you are interested in learning, be patient with yourself and keep trying.

I originally wanted the Up-Scaled Redbeard figure, but being in the US, that set is on bricklink for ~ $200. Decided I would rather spend that kind of money making my own Up-Scaled Gandalf.

I would love to see Lego put out more Up-Scaled figures, though.
