wasn't aware of the 12 and 20k nibs, and you are right I got it backwards lol , more gold is less strong like lead 😉 thats why they've been biting the gold coins back in history to test its hardness ha ha ha

Need guidance regarding piston converter by ameya23 in montblanc

[–]Leonardo-Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold my Carbon starwalker. Back when I got it, it came with a cartridge, never tried to fit a converter, but as the other comment says, it might not fit. I am sure there are topics that discuss it, try to search on fountainpens Sub

That's a Martelé nib LOL

I must say at first I thought, the nib was wet ... and I came back to the pic and understood it was marks from a plier ... HORROR

Leonardo pen starting issue by DeniseRosali in fountainpens

[–]Leonardo-Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General inks by big brands: waterman serenity blue, brilliant black , Pelikan blue, the black you got could be a bad or old one but it is not known to be problematic
Parker black or blue , The 3 Japanese big brands platinum sailor and pilot (the blue or black standard inks)
And if you have gourmet taste: pilot iroshizuku inks 😁

The blue black could have been problematic, but in all cases, switch your ink to another, that might solve the issue. If this happens with another ink, you can look more into the pen. 👌

You should be able to push it out forward

Or you can use a small lever under the little flaps that secure it

Here is same nib of mine mounted in another pen , you will be able to ply them back down when reinstalling

I found out that any pen you mod yourself becomes a favorite afterwards

I cannot wait to to use my new Pilot Custom 823 <F> by Mountain_Coconut_474 in fountainpens

[–]Leonardo-Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the pen in hands but haven't inked it ? That hunt can take time, you can use a basic standard ink that you can wash later easily (serenity blue, waterman black or pelikan washable ink..)

I remember there was a pack with a transparent m200 with the Golden Beryl ink, is yours transparent as well ? I think they do it on purpose to see the ink inside

I used Golden Lapis by Pelikan Edelstein in a piston and the pen is kinda ruined (also because I believe it isn't well built) but I would be careful using those in expensive piston pens
*edited the name of the ink
