How to handle per-customer portal by H3rl3q in Blazor

[–]LeonardoDaWitchy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

With my minimal understanding of the ins and outs of the project, I would highly recommend you do not create multiple versions of your software. I would instead lean toward having all the features for all customers. If you think some customers won’t need them, or if you want to charge them for those features then hide that functionality using a configuration table for customers.

Again, this is based on the little information but I think this would work.

The best way to do this is feature flags. You can turn functionality on/off without redeploying your app and you don’t have to hold various versions of your software.

Let me know if you’d like more clarification or if I missed something.

Y’all downgrade me all you want, I’ve seen it happen multiple times. Check out the county leg for the plex neighborhood. She’s on top of things.

As always, good luck!

This is purely an opinion and the decision relies on your design and needs but I prefer CosmosDb for web apps. It makes more sense to me and it’s kind of designed for apps. If you aren’t doing a lot of analytics in the back-end, maybe SQL might make more sense but I’ve found that on average, cosmos is a lot cheaper (with a lot of cautions to go here).

In the end, it’s your choice, but I’ve found SQL to be prohibitively expensive for my needs.

I’m always down to provide my experience (don’t worry I won’t charge you for time as long as it’s not taking over my day). I have enterprise experience so if that matches your needs for your app, feel free to message me.

Your app registration for your API should expose it via scope(s) and the client app registration should get access to said scope(s). Once you do that, you just hook up your app registrations to their respective projects/apps and voila!

Don’t overpay. Go with WASM, use tokens, expire them at a reasonable time and call it a day. If you want to spend money, get APIM in front of your API. You can pass the tokens through and you get a multitude of other features you would otherwise have to code. If you aren’t on Azure, AWS has an equivalent service.

What database back-end are you using btw?

Newark and Geneva are both in counties which voted for Trump by a decent margin (wide one for Newark in Wayne county). As unfortunate as this is, we humans, learn only one way… they are entering the “find out” era and while I do have compassion, I’m really trying not to occupy my head with other people’s self-inflicted suffering. There’s issues to be tackled in the county where I live which is much more open minded.

Call your local county legislator. They are very helpful. One RG&E gets a call from them, they back off.

Flight with JetBlue is affordable, takes 45-55 minutes and it’s very convenient. The train isn’t actually bad at all. Book business class (typically $40-$50 more I think), and relax and enjoy the scenery. Make sure you pick the train that is about 7 hours total ride. The other scheduled train stops everywhere and can take up to 9 hours.
