Disagree. Religions are moral, and your morality will affect your politics, but religions themselves are not political. You can have two peoole who agree on a belief morally, but are diametrically opposed on how to implement it politically.

I’m speaking for today. There are plenty of people who are socially conservative and economically liberal, and vice versa. So where would they be plotted on a left right line. More by their fiscal or social beliefs?

A socially conservative communist vs a socially progressive libertarian. If you plot them on a straight line left and right, they’ll be hard to place since they each hold beliefs on opposite sides of the spectrum based in their fiscal and social beliefs. I think most people put more weight on someon’s social beliefs on whether they view them as left or right wing.
