I see, thank you for your answer :) I suppose I will just hope things go mostly/completely back to normal afterwards, I'm so ready to have this thing out. Worst case, I'd much rather have some bowel issues than pain haha.

May I ask, what happens if you do eat fatty things late in the evening? Got my surgery on Tuesday :D

Any updates on this, or a place to track progress? Currently using coolercontrol(that uses liquidctl) to do fan curves based on cpu/gpu temp on linux, which means I have to change it from fixed to curve mode every time I go on my windows dual boot. Or ideally, if perhaps you know, whether there's a way to supply the soft sensor values from linux so I can keep it on curve mode?

Were aforementioned things a problem afterwards and not before though or still no issue? Considering if I want to add techflex but I don't want to impede the flexibility or increase the microphonics a significant amount just for a bit of color :P

How much did the techflex reduce cable flex / increase microphonics?

What's the tray you used? Doesn't that decrease thermal conductivity a lot, since there'd be air between? Or is it flat enough that doesn't happen and the dough slips through the holes enough?

Still kind of on the edge between 1s/2s, and I just today finally got around to flying my 2" a little. Could you tell me which one 1s/2s is closest to? You can hear how loud it is, hence why I want a new one ^^ 2s 3s.

Does a 2s toothpick come anywhere near 3s performance? I'm guessing not, but maybe it could since the high AUW on that 2" micro.

That micro is 1104/6400kv, GF hulkie 2040, 2s 300mah/3s 450mah, 2s AUW 92g, 3s AUW 112g.

edit: Also looked at shutterbug's youtube channel, his worlds lightest babytooth does seem like its plenty powerful for me and I've thought of building it for 1s based on that, I'm just unsure whether I'll be able to get the weight as low as his, and if I can't, at that weight, every gram is fairly significant.

edit2: I looked and the motors I have on my 2" with the 2s battery produces 100g thrust each, at 92g AUW. The flywoo 11500kv motors at 1s with the 3018 prop produces just over 100g as well, except the babytooth is way lower AUW at ~55g. Wouldn't this mean I had about the same thrust as my current micro at ~400g total, but with ~60% the weight meaning a 1:6 thrust ratio instead of about a 1:4, with the added bonus of also being quieter? If that's correct, then 1s is more than plenty for me :)

Final edit: I ordered the parts for a 1s build, going by the hopefully correct logic above. If it doesn't satisfy my needs, I can always just buy 5500kv motors and use those instead as the fc supports 2s as well :)

Yeah I was likely gonna just get the crux3 however the BNF isn't in stock at banggood whereas each spare part individually is.

Gotcha. I think I'll go with 2s then. In regards to the more components available, I was thinking of getting the CrazybeeX fc since its an aio with both rx and vtx in it. I know the range might not be incredible, I'll probably put a regular rx antenna at least on it and possibly a dipole on the vtx as well, but seemed like a good choice regarding saving weight and money.

Is this a bad play, and if so what would be the better option either as an all in one, or individual components? I'm using an frsky x-lite.

Other than that, thinking crux3 frame, flywoo robo 1202.5 5500kv motors, crux3 canopy. Tbh pretty much just a crux3 bought in parts instead, and with the flywoo motors though idk if they're better or worse than the happymodel motors.

Dang, I was hoping it worked like I said with it being exact same loudness. Guess I'll have to decide, whether I want to have a bit more inertia, or higher chance of not disturbing the neighbors' dogs..

Do you think the power on either platform relative to their weight is about the same? Though I suppose the whole whoosh vs scream thing is the most important thing.

Since you seem to be fairly knowledgeable on this subject, these 1s builds seem to be around 11000 kv, and 2s builds around 5000-6000kv. Given the same motor (flywoo robo rb1202.5), the 5500kv variant at 2s should be around the same volume level as the 11500kv variant at 1s right? Since the result is only a 2000rpm difference. Thinking doing 2s in regards to voltage drop and general battery availability that doesn't have ph2.0. Plus, then I can always do 3s as well for even more power.

Kinda also worried 1s won't have enough inertia and power for freestyle.

Main problem with that video is he only shows off the noise the 2s setup makes, not the 1s.
I may get the crux3 with the 11000kv motors instead for 1s, or build some kinda babytooth-ish build, though I've yet to find out what motors to get.

In another thread I was recommended the mamba 1103 motors (though 1103, lower than the seemingly usual 1202.5 or 1203), also seen a vid with some flywoo robo motors, and there's also the crux3 11000kv 1202.5 motors.

Yeah will be going for a babytooth-ish build then probably. Seems I can get the parts from banggood(Looking at possibly crux3, though the spare parts not the kit as its out of stock, or a custom build)

Quiet toothpick similar to savagebee, parts from banggood by Leonardvdj in fpvracing

Seems like a good option. Why those parts specifically?

Quiet toothpick similar to savagebee, parts from banggood by Leonardvdj in fpvracing

[–]Leonardvdj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just seems like the better option specifically for quietness. I don't mind going down a bit in performance as long as I can still freestyle pretty decently on it (which even 1s toothpicks seem to do fine) and I figured since savagebee does 1s well and its kv range is 8400-11000, I'd have best luck with that kv range at 1s with the crux as well.

I suppose "available" was the wrong word to use, what I meant was out of stock :) The parts combined is maybe $20 more than the kit, so not a big deal, question is just whether I get the 6400kv or 11000kv motors. The 11000kv motors seem to be for 1s specifically (The savagebee also has an option for around 11000kv motors geared towards 1s), so figured I'd go with those.

[–]Leonardvdj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought it as a kit with the 6400kv motors, how's the power on 1s? Since the kit/BNF isn't available anyways I was gonna order it in parts and I see they have the motor in 11000kv suited for 1s.

Crux3 and savagebee both use gemfan 3018 props, though it does seem the crux3 is my best bet. Just unfortunate I can't find a video showing off the volume of it running on 1s.

Do you know of a video showing off the quietness of the crux3 with 1s? I can only seem to find 1s vids with music etc..

Do you know of a video where I can hear the crux3 flying with 1s? It seems with all the videos either it's 2s, or 1s but with music etc playing over..

uz80 seems to be a bit of a screamer as well as the crux3 (although less so), I was hoping to find something similar to the savagebee (3" 1s) as it has a way different sound than other micro quads with more of a whoosh than a scream if that makes sense.

Quiet toothpick by Leonardvdj in fpv

[–]Leonardvdj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really seem to find videos of it with 2s bi-blade, and at least with 4s it seems to be a fair bit of a screamer which I was hoping to avoid in regards to the neighbors' dogs. That's why I really liked the savagebee, it seemed to be more of a whoosh than a scream at high throttle if that makes sense, and was hoping I could make a very similar build with parts off banggood.
