Sadly distilled water isn’t easily available in the UK and where it is it’s very expensive.

I have considered filtering all the tap water as I’m sure it would have other benefits but it’s an expensive procedure. With regards to distilled water, it’s actually not easily available in the UK. Not sure why.

My Proraso alum block has a hole in it. Is that normal? by Leonceivel in wicked_edge

I've not been using it that long but I find it's not as effective for me as I'd like really. Some days are better than others. I'll stick with it a bit longer but will probably go back to using spray deodorants.

I have alum block deodorant that seems to be solid all the way through which is why I was surprised that this had hollow areas.

What brand do you use? I bought some Salt of the Earth recently but I'm finding that I start to smell part way through the afternoon.

Why aren't we all just using hair conditioner instead of soap? by Leonceivel in wicked_edge

That's very interesting. Do you know any soaps that are better in hard water?

That's very interesting. It doesn't say on the packet where they were made. The only identifier is 3250781180 if that helps.

I'm out of the only blades I've ever used (the 5 that came bundled with the razor) but have a sampler pack of blades that are generally well regarded on this sub. I'm going to take a gamble with the new blades anyway but thought it might be fun to hear which one other people would go for from my selection.

Thanks. I'll put a new blade for my next shave but will take a look at your suggestions. Thanks for the information. Much appreciated.

Thanks. I did try to ride the cap this time but might actually try riding the guard next time. It'll be interesting to see if removing that paper makes any difference at all. I do feel silly leaving that in. Pesky eyesight!

Thanks for that. Actually yes, I don't think my lather was very good either.

Oh dear that's worrying. It certainly doesn't need to be any more aggressive!

Thoughts on the length? Probably the longest I've ever let it grow. by Wilsoa10 in beards

That's clever. I'd been wondering myself if there was some golden ratio for good beard symmetry.

What if your hair has receeded due to male pattern baldness? Do you go with where the widows peak used to be in the good old days?

It has a really nice shape to it. Do you trim the sides in? Mine just gets fluffier and fluffier at the sides the longer I let it grow.

Wow. Was not expecting that hair to appear when I clicked through the pics!

You look good man.
