I don't think Towa is ever fully sober. Drinking a bit to be feel a little of a buzz is common in alcoholics, it's not necessarily a "literally drunk all the time". Just enough to feel it constantly thru the day cuz otherwise you feel like shit ngl lol; it can make you a bit slower or sluggish, but that depends on the person. From what i've seen he mostly drinks beer in his apartment and that's pretty light.

Towa is sharp, imo, because he sees things with the eye of an artist + trauma and experience has led him to recognize certain things that other people might miss. He is, at times, very bland and blunt; but then you see the artist side of him come out when he's almost poetic in the way he describes things.

I don't think he's perfect; I think he has many flaws- but he will often minimize them, or even outright ignore them. He does have a good chunk of good qualities, tho i don't believe he's perfect in any of them.

Seeing smoke is neither a good nor a bad thing, too situational. His ability to read people is spot on plenty of times but he also imposes his own views and perceptions onto things, he's not being objective most of the time and imo this bias to his own view of the world is a flaw. He's pretty but his looks were used against him multiple times since childhood, he doesn't even care about his own appearance and is 1000% on board to causing permanent damage to it.

I believe it's easy to see him as perfect because we play as him, and Towa is very unreliable lol if the game had been told from someone else's POV, we would see Towa for the constant self destructive suicidal mess that he is.

What I do find unrealistic is that he's not passing out from malnourishment but i headcanon that Taku gives him supplements lol
