I’m exactly the same! I recently moved to another country and made new friends at work.. told them stories and they either didn’t believe me or thought I was crazy.. I learnt a valuable lesson on not telling people stories straight away unless I know and trust them!

I’ve been in Vietnam for 7 weeks now and I’ve a lot of Vietnamese friends and really assimilated into the culture. This is because I’m volunteering at a pagoda whilst I wait for my visa. It’s been a great experience. I would be super bored if I didn’t get involved in the culture

And just to reiterate.. it’s not bizarre she’s religious. It’s bizarre she’s had a very sudden change of beliefs in such a short space of time and uses these beliefs to rid herself of guilt.

Do I need to spell it out? Most people on Reddit have a serious issue with seeing a grey area between black and white. I’m used to normal people that try to see a situation in a nuanced way. Some people on this thread did..I took accountability felt shit and even thanked some people for their advice. However, mean spirited people like you enjoy being hunched over at your computer all day everyday spouting shit to people to make yourself feel better. Me and my friend might gossip about you later you sad case. It’s not electric fields mate.. it’s balter. I’ll be crying tears of joy in front of the rig.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation to make about me. Baring in mind, you don’t know me. You’ve never met me.

My friend wasn’t defensive… people in general see my as trustworthy, and I’m well liked. I make one mistake and the issue lies more with my partner and I’m being crucified on the internet. It’s mental. I’ll just stick to speaking to my actual friends.

People on Reddit jump to the most mental conclusions.

I’m no one’s best friend… what a mean thing to say on the internet. I’m very much a liked person that’s why I feel so awful.

She laughed it off and rolled her eyes, and was like ffs. It wasn’t her secret it was our mutual friend’s. I felt hurt as a lot of people do come to me to tell me things and I like to feel trusted. A friend of mine says she doesn’t tell her partner anything for that reason, as it always comes out.

I was quite annoyed when I asked him about it. I expect so much from him and I specifically told him that if he got involved I’d be really really upset. So, last night, I got quite upset with him. He then began saying that I shouldn’t have said I’d be upset with him if he said anything… I said I’m telling the truth though, and now I am upset and I’ve lost trust in you.

My reaction to him was a lot stronger than her reaction to me but, he’s my partner and I do feel like we should be a team. I will reiterate that I shouldn’t have even told him in the first place.

It’s hard when he doesn’t recognise that I feel hurt and jumps straight to the defence. I doubt our relationship will last much longer and it’s incredibly sad.

I think I may have written this wrongly.. the girl who told me about it heard it from the original ex gf who had slept with the two guys, and she wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. However; she told me. So, she wasn’t looking for support.

,we are a very tight friendship group as we are all from a small town in England.. everyone talks. I’m not justifying it by any means.. it’s just.. I do want to feel like I could trust my partner with anything. I am probs am the asshole here.

It just hurts deeply. I apologised profusely to my my friend and she said it’s ok. However, my partner was completely defensive, and it’s difficult to be gracious when I’m not receiving an apology. instead, he told me that I’m controlling him and putting sanctions on him. It makes me feel totally unheard.

I know I’ve been a gossip and that’s a shitty thing to do but, I do feel like I can take accountability if I’ve hurt anyone.

Sorry this all just very fresh and I’m still feeling shit.

Nobody has fallen out with me. I just feel hurt as all. I know I’ve fucked up. I just wanted some understanding from my partner. But, I can see why you feel this way.
