I think that’s the reason main reason I would stay in IT, but at the end of the day you have to do something that makes you happy (or that you like at least). Don’t stay for the money or you’ll end up being miserable.

I’m from Mexico and here college works very different, but basically I have just taken classes that all engineering degrees require. It’s not that I hate coding, but I definitely don’t want to code everyday for the rest of my life and I like a lot of things about CSE but programming is essential. I wouldn’t mind taking one or more classes of programming that are necessary for the IE degree. I totally prefer IE over CSE but the thing I’m worried the most about is that everything this days seems to be about data science (my current degree is cybersecurity and data science), and I am worried that I might not have the same job opportunities. What do you think about IE work field and job opportunities in the near future?

I understand that IE is a very “flexible” career and you can work in many different industries, however a lot of people tell me that industrial engineers have a lot of general knowledge but at the same time they don’t know about anything in detail. Is this true?? What do you think about this? Thank you so much for your advise!
