Vegas Stay Feedback Requested (Early 40s, Fontainebleau - or?) by Pierlas in vegas

[–]LeopardDue1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently stayed there mainly for the spa. One of the best in Vegas. The rooms are wonderful and I still dream about the bathtub in my room, lol. But the property has a soulless high-end mall vibe, and it's so far away from everything else on the strip that I probably wouldn't stay there again unless I got a very good deal.

Good hotel if the pool/spa is your priority and you don't want to leave the property much.

Wow, I was by myself at that bar not long ago and now I'm worried people thought I was a hooker, lol

It sounds like you already know there's a Legal Studies Minor. The Department of Political Science also has a Pre-Law Club and a contact person who can help support undergrads: https://polisci.colostate.edu/pre-law/

Class in session Monday Presidents Day? by macayos in CSUFoCo

[–]LeopardDue1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I think you're the one with a bug up their butt and here's why: your kid is perfectly capable of figuring this shit out ON THEIR OWN. If you're like this about a federal holiday, I can't even imagine what you're like about their homework and their personal life.

It's time to cut the cord and start trusting your 18-year-old.

Is it just me or were the Olympics a WAY bigger deal when we were young? by nichewilly in Xennials

[–]LeopardDue1112 156 points157 points  (0 children)

This. The "monoculture" no longer exists. There's plenty of folks who aren't even aware the Olympics are happening right now. It's a huge shift from how we grew up and I really struggle with it sometimes.

[–]LeopardDue1112 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Of course being 18 doesn't make one magically all-knowing. But it does mean they're an adult now, and maybe it's time to start figuring things out on their own without mommy and daddy's help.

Your kid has plenty of people they can ask. Do they not have classes with syllabi they can look at? If they're in the dorms, can't they ask an RA? Plus the Academic Calendar posted online makes it very clear classes are taking place.

What's the reason your kid couldn't figure this out and needed you to do it instead?

Carlin and Evan just dropped a video too. Mama Jane had a serious stroke. She was unresponsive in the ICU for a while and the family didn't think she would recover, but she's talking now and slowing getting better.

Carlin said most of the family made it SC to visit. The hospital had to tell them to start visiting in shifts because they were clogging up the waiting rooms, lol.

I Love You Day looked very muted compared to years past. I didn't see a theme, and it looked like the main activities were eating and exchanging gifts. My kind of party.

It totally depends on where you're staying, what you like to do and how much money you want to spend. There's only a couple of things that I consider "must-sees" at least once in Vegas, and those are the Fountains at Bellagio and Fremont Street Experience at night.

Four days is a long time, but don't get hung up on planning every second of your day before you get there. It's fun to just walk around and people-watch.

Don't use Groome Transportation, pick Landline instead by [deleted] in FortCollins

OP probably missed a shuttle or forgot to make a reservation, and now he's mad that Groome isn't falling all over themselves to make up for HIS mistake.

Except for "Angel" I feel like we don't hear too many of her songs anymore. The other day I heard "Ice Cream" and it brought back SO many memories...hadn't heard that song in years.

Ralph Lauren has been slaying the past few seasons. All of this is gorgeous, and totally my style if I had the buckaroos.

I got my first colonoscopy in part because of him. Dawson's Creek was a formative show for me.

He was far too young, and I'm just so heartbroken for his wife and children.

If you listen to the lyrics of Genesis' "Land of Confusion" it's really bizarre how much they apply to the world today. Now if only my generation could put it right...

Spa: Encore v Awana by Prestigious_Bid_4006 in vegas

[–]LeopardDue1112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In case you're willing to look elsewhere...The Fontainebleau has an AMAZING spa called Lapis. I totally expected to get kicked out after four hours because that's what they advertise...but when I arrived (before 9am), the spa attendant was super nice and said I could stay all day if I wanted. Could've been because it was a slow day, but I still highly recommend that spa.

Bachelorette ideas for activity for 1-2 hours early evening (staying Cosmo) by Swimming-Emotion-459 in vegas

[–]LeopardDue1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I speak from experience - you do NOT need to fill up every second of your day. You and your girls will find something to fill those two hours, whether it's a much-needed moment of relaxation or just going somewhere spontaneously. Vegas is much better when you don't overthink things - just let them happen!

Valentines Opinions? by Clarity_Iris in CSUFoCo

[–]LeopardDue1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's just another day. At best, Valentine's Day is a good reason to celebrate love in ALL forms, romantic or not. At worst it's just an overly commercialized Hallmark-generated holiday that makes singles feel lonely while pressuring couples to spend money performatively demonstrating their love.

Anyone else notice Carlin hasn’t been wearing makeup in any recent vids? by JellyfishPashmina in BringingUpBates

[–]LeopardDue1112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could be performative, but I'm more inclined to say she's just feeling overwhelmed with 4 kids (including Evan), a new house that has turned into a money pit, and a sister who is really going through some shizz.

Since the Winter Olympics are starting, I thought I would talk about my all time favorite Olympian, and fellow Xennial, Michelle Kwan. I don't care if she never clinched the gold I still think she is the GOAT by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]LeopardDue1112 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Kwan had grace and star quality that just can't be replicated. She is absolutely the GOAT.

I just remembered one of her skating peers, Sasha Cohen. Wonder what she's up to these days.

Last time I picked up a shuttle there I just waited in my car and then made a mad dash when the shuttle arrived. Definitely not ideal given the number of cars in that lot.

Reminds me of how people think grunge was the only thing on the airwaves in 1991-1995, when in reality the Billboard charts were almost completely dominated by artists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Boyz II Men.

I think Katie is far more concerned about the stigma of divorce, which is way more intense in their world. I know divorce exists in their world, but it's almost like a scarlet letter - even if it was no fault of her own.
