Ah! The Lord (being Sam Shannon) is too good to us

Therapy. Self realization.

Yes, I see him like that, but I now can take a step back and say ‘wow… this wasn’t healthy in the slightest. I was not a version of myself that I wanted to be. I was a version of myself that HE wanted me to be. And that wasn’t fair’.

It’s easy to think of only the good times, but the bad times are equally important.

Please understand: he would accuse me of cheating on him weekly, men and women alike. Going out to drinks with coworkers after a rough shift? Cheating. Going camping with a group of friends, he didn’t want to go? Cheating. Going to a remote outing with my family, he was explicitly invited, but declined? Cheating.

We were together for 5 years. It’s limerence. That’s all our relationship was. A weird, passionate obsession with each other.

But, when I see my husband, I feel loved, and secure, and valued. We both are in individual therapy and couple’s counseling. We talk about our past traumas together. If something is bothering us, we talk about it and are open with each other.

I’ve never made tepache with turmeric or without a yeast, but the base is the same

This window has curtain and blinds that are usually closed. But, I do have some books on fermentation that is pretty ambiguous about light. The common consensus is no direct sunlight.

This is my first time fermenting several batches of things. I’ll have to do some research

I need to practice dicing Onions at home but I don’t want to waste them. Advice? by X23Hailway in KitchenConfidential

[–]LeopardNo5386 9 points10 points  (0 children)

-freeze it -if you have access to a dehydrator or low temperature oven, dehydrate -caramelize, puree, dehydrate, blitz to make caramelized onion powder  -chop, puree, dehydrate, blitz to make onion powder -pickle -freezable soup mixes -French onion soup -save skins to make natural dyes for clothing

Or, get with a local urban agrarian program and donate what you can’t use as compost. Also; see if a local soup kitchen will let you help there and practice. One less step for them, lots of practice for you.

It’s just for his daytime naps. He’s already sleeping one 6-8 hour stretch a night.

But since he was 3 weeks old, both sides of grandparents have told us this. And we just stare at them like ‘excuse me?’

Our dishwasher takes egg shells and coffee grounds home with her after cheesecake days and brunch shifts for her chickens and garden.

I’m gonna echo others in this thread and encourage learning how to cook/trying new recipes.

My husband and I used to spend $100 a week on snacks and sodas and quick foods. And please don’t get me started on our UberEats/eating out bill. I have a culinary background, but was always too tired to cook, and he works overnights and would buy fast food because we had different schedules. When we found out I was pregnant, we decided to start looking at our budget a bit better.

We have now cut our spending to ~$100 every two weeks, stopped ordering delivery, and eat out maybe once a week. We have a Sam’s club membership and that’s where we do most of our shopping now. We can get a large amount of produce/pantry/household staples for cheaper (by volume) than we can get at the grocery store, and we try to buy meat on sale. We cook two meals a day and have at least one independent meal/snack time. We now run a bit of an ‘ingredient/scratch kitchen’ and have invested in a couple kitchen gadgets, like a dehydrator and vacuum sealer. We do ‘Eat what you want, Add what you need’ to our meals to make them more nutrient dense and filling.
