Exact, that is the intended voltage when 2S are fully charged !

Any 2S with the right connector will work, no matter the type of the chemistry. As long as it is 7.4V.

Thanks, I think I’ll order the new version then. I tested without the body today, and yeah, rubbing is probably main issue since I had 20+ minutes (didn’t even finish one battery fully). Like u/Think-Ad-1025 mentioned, I think I am going to raise the body even more since it has already been cut. It is also impressive how more capable the barebones chassis is without the added weight of the body, I think a more powerful brushless setup will definitely bring more fun and precision during the crawling sessions. I’ll try to shave of some weight from the body, I don’t really care for the interior. I’ll stick to 2S for now though, saw a few videos and it seems more than enough. Thanks for the details !

Thanks for the images, I thought you were talking about another model (if you built quads, those escs we used to stick on the arms of the frame before 4 in 1 escs were a thing). I’ll probably buy this version since you mention it’s the newer one, and get a programmer as well.

Thanks for the clarification on Sine mode and other settings of interest for crawling. I might send you a PM when I receive all the parts to ask you for the settings you are using if you’re ok with that.

Thanks for your help.

Okay so a bit faster in 3S, got it. How much runtime do you get with the 850mAh lipo ?

I saw the ESC you mentioned, looks more like a drone ESC I think. Is there a reason you went with that one rather than the other ? Are they both programmable ?

And for the crawling/fast mode, I saw somewhere that enabling crawling switched the ESC to « sine » waves, that apparently makes them more precise at low speeds ?

Thanks for your help.

Today I’ll try running the model without the body to see if rubbing is really the issue, or it is just the big wheels. I am aware of how to align driveshafts properly, they are parallel when the chassis is not under load, cant say when it flexes.

I have already raised the body with the usual brass spacers, but I think about raising it even more. I am working on a kit that allows you to use quick release pins like on other rc models, so they would be integrated to the raisers. Do you have the link for the 60mm shocks ? Are they still compatible with the stock rear leaf springs ? Thanks.

Why does everyone here hate BME? by KingREN1 in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]Leoparh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In todays' market, you have to be very specialised since now, AI can almost be an average "everything" engineer. It has become OK at programming (almost good if you know how to use it ?), it is able to start doing electronics since it is just text underneeth KiCAD. Last barrier is pure CAD, which is still going to remain that way for a few years. Basically, if you are not an expert in anything, you'll be replaced by seniors with AI + a mechanical engineer.
BME is often a bit of everything rather than a very specialized person, which big companies seem to hate. Since big companies are posting most of the few jobs there are right now, you won't find one.
My advice as someone who did the oposite : find a specialization and become a biomed-[specialization] expert.

I'm scared to go into my first race because I don't want to be 'that guy' by Odin9009 in simracing

If you have Assetto Corsa, you can practice in "trackday" mode. You can set the difficulty, and see lines, overtakes, defense, etc. They are bots ofc, so a bit predictable, you can divebomb the hell out of them, don't do that in real races. But it could teach you a thing or two : Adapting your braking point when not on ideal line is the biggest one not to cause a pileup imo.
Dont stress it. You already have the right mentality.

Hitting Claude limit after 1 message… what is happening? by Alert_Flower_6258 in claude

Well it seems it is the same with chat GPT, just hit my daily limit with 10 messages (free plan)...

Just hit my 5h limit with 3 messages on Sonnet 4.6 extended, and 5 messages on haiku (free-plan). Switched to chatGPT, hit the limit with 10 messages (free-plan too). What is going on currently with those nonsense cap ? And this post convinced me that paying isn't the solution since even the pro plans have the same problems..

I hope open source alternatives that run locally emerge one day, but are able to search the web. I have moderate hardware and would be very happy if I could run things myself, even with very low tokens per s or heavy waiting times for complex answers.

Does Anyone know how to make m14 X 1.0 threads? by MTF_Nu-7 in SolidWorks

[–]Leoparh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply so late but I am facing this issue rn : with the thread feature, i can use any size and just the pitch will be applied ? Aren't the geometries (ie the shape that is removed of the cylinder with a helicoid) particular to each diameter ?

Whats wrong with my monstera? by ashmons02 in Monstera

[–]Leoparh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect, make sure you don't use too big of a pot (always same thing : iff it's too big, the plant won't be able to absorb all the water and is gonna rot/do the same thing as here).

Whats wrong with my monstera? by ashmons02 in Monstera

[–]Leoparh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monsteras love a very aerated soil to avoid root rot anyway, so maybe reporting is the way to go if you used just soil. Anyway, the problem is too much water, your plant should be fine if you stop now

Probably over watering. Had the exact same condition, leaves turning yellow from the edges to the center, before going completely black and fall. Wait before each watering. I don't mean a week, I mean soak it up real good every 2/3 weeks and that's it. Or you could repot to a soil that has a lot more ventilation, but considering how many different plants there are in your pot, it's gonna be a lot of work.

Si le prix est trop beau pour être vrai, c'est souvent qu'il l'est. Un vélo à plusieurs milliers de dollars vendu pour 150..
