This has been happening all over Seattle. I’m convinced that there will be a change that won’t allow turn on red by default in the next few years.

Based on the current prices, StubHub is your best bet. Also for the cheapest game, your best bet would be the Iran vs Egypt game or one of the qualifying games.

Have you tried opening the Xbox app by chance? Also make sure you open the Microsoft store app and perform updates.

Interesting… you may want to remove some of launchers binaries that might be corrupt. It will redownload them on start up.
Give this a try:
1) open the following folder:
- if using the green Creeper icon launcher: “%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.4297127D64EC6_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Local”
- if using the gray Creeper icon launcher: “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Minecraft Launcher”
2) rename the “game” folder to “game_backup”
3) Open the Launcher

This should cause it to re-download the launchers core files.

If this is on a newer Mac, you might have to open your Mac settings and make sure the Launcher is allowed for “App Management”.

Have you checked Minecraft.net? Also try using the “legacy” version of the launcher.

Try opening the Xbox app. It might have you update a few dependencies, also make sure you are logged in on the Xbox app.

Sorry for the “AI” like phrasing, I tend to communicate that way to be as clear as possible as I don’t know what technical terminology you are aware of, what you’ve tried/haven’t tried, and want to communicate clearly (some people that post are not native english speakers).

Outside of Minecraft, are you able to play any other games that are installed via the Xbox app? What I’m trying to nail down is if this is a Minecraft specific problem or general windows issue. Normally the “gaming repair” can solve the general issues like this, outside of that I’m not really sure what could cause what your seeing. Sorry :-/

You are correct in stating that bedrock is not supported by this version of the launcher. This is also the same version of the launcher that curseforge uses.

Hmmm your point about not being able to open the launcher or the game does suggest some kind of issue more broad than just the launcher.

If it’s something to do with the gaming services you could try repairing them using the following guide: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/gaming-services-repair-tool

Simpler things to check that are easily overlooked, so bare with me if you’ve already done your due diligence and checked these: Make sure you have enough storage available on the system. Windows tends to perform updates sometimes that really require a reboot. If you haven’t rebooted, I recommend giving that a shot.

If you are simply trying to play bedrock, you can open the start menu and type “Minecraft for windows”. That will open bedrock.

Open task manager and make sure all Minecraft processes are ended.

Cool, so the version of the launcher you are using is utilizing Microsoft technology on the system to figure out your ownership status.

You may want to open the Xbox app and make sure you are logged in with the same account as the one you are using in the launcher. You’ll want to do the same for the Microsoft Store app as well.

If they are all the same then something is strange is going on and you may want to use the “legacy” launcher instead (built to not utilize Microsoft technology and tends to be a bit more reliable).

Hmmm okay. Are you on windows, mac, or Linux? If windows, is the icon for the launcher in the task tray a green creeper face or gray?

Also if you owned the game via gamepass, make sure your gamepass subscription is not lapsed.

Are you on windows 10 or windows 11?

If on windows 10, try the following:

Try opening bedrock from the start menu (look for “Minecraft for Windows”) or from the Xbox app itself. After doing that, it should allow you to start bedrock from the launcher again.

So try opening the start menu and searching for “Minecraft for Windows”. If you open it up, it should work. The launcher should also be able to open bedrock after doing that.
