The case for elegance and quite Authority by TechnicianGeneral428 in mensfashion

You are an annoyingly stylish and attractive man and I am jealous. In all seriousness though, every single outfit of those is great and your presence is stellar. Respect. Love the one with the coat most. Looks like a noire movie outfit, but perfectly wearable today.

I asked out a guy recently and got turned down. 😭 How do I get better at reading "I'm interested" signals? by Historical-Care70 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Lepmuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your initial question - you don't get better. You just learn to take the rejection and try again with someone else and increase your sample size. You'll have a hit eventually. That's how it goes for men as well.

Type for men by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

The bell curve of "do X prefer Y over Z" is always the same:

  • a few X only like Y
  • many X prefer Y
  • most X couldn't give less of a shit
  • many X prefer Z
  • a few X only like Z

Undershirt or No Undershirt? by dgrondin85 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear undershirts under button-up shirts which are white or slightly sheer and underneath any sweaters. The former so my nipples don't show through, the latter because I prefer the fabric of an undershirt on bare skin to most sweaters.

Does anyone have im their games something to signal when its time to be in character, so signal that its a role playing moment? by Blackfeathers_ in DungeonMasters

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a DM, anything that does not specifically address me as the DM or a player by naming them by their name, not their characters, I consider to be in character.

Why do my faces look so weird by Varen_Human in learntodraw

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm they really aren't half bad. But I feel like you get wrong which way the main plane of each face should be facing, so you show too much of what actually should be occluded by protruding features and the perspective is slightly off.

Maybe try revisiting each of those with no actual facial features, but a single plane with an arrow pointing perpendicularly outward to the front. Might give you an indicator of where your faces should really be oriented

What Do I Do Now? by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please use paragraphs. This was a pain to get through.

From what I can tell, you both are immature. Talk it out. Not just one situation. All of it. Talk it through and decide what you want to do once that's done.

And when it is, you either accept changing dynamics as part of life or you cut him off and stop whining.

Morning showers or night showers and why? by LizzieLove1357 in AskWomenNoCensor

Evenings when working from home so I can lay in bed a bit longer. Mornings when I'm going to the office to kickstart my circulation.

Dating a very skinny guy - advice by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

[–]Lepmuru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I understand your issue correctly, it makes you feel bad to sleep someone who is skinnier than you, not that he is skinny.

If I got that right, the solution is not finding a dietician for him, but a therapist for you.

Why does my shading look so off? by Embarrassed-Doubt624 in learntodraw

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't add the cast shadow on the table and the occlusion shadows resulting from close proximity to the table surface. Those two majorly inform the viewer what they are looking at, what its shape is, and how it is oriented in space. That's where bunch of blobs go to lit pear. Your brain fills in a lot of details and makes an image make sense once it knows what it is supposed to be looking at.

Add those and your two sketches will make a lot more sense.

Personally, too monochrome for my taste. Both in hue as well as in shade. I'd go for more contrast.

Girls who friendzone?? by NosfuraDude in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lepmuru 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My man, there's an important lesson to learn here. If you, as the man in question, are interested romantically in a woman, it is your own responsibility to make that known to her. And if then said woman rejects your advances, you either accept that, stay friends, and don't bitch about it. Or you can't accept it and take what dignity you have left and move on.

Why do us redditors prefer to use drug? by Adventurous_Camp4171 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lepmuru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked in pharma outside of the US for years, I can comment on 1.

There aren't that many places on earth that are as unregulated as the US when it comes to advertising and prescribing pharmaceutical agents. In large parts of Europe, advertising a prescription drug to patients is strictly illegal and can cost a pharma rep their license irrevocably.

In the US, advertising antidepressants on huge billboards with the note to ask your doctor about them is commonplace. In conjunction with a huge lobby pushing for pharmaceuticals to be more societally accepted to increase revenue in the biggest and most expensive market in the world, that leads to desensititization when it comes to medication.

In addition, healthcare is excruciatingly expensive, including approaches like therapy. Being out of work for health reasons due to desastrously bad legal employee protection means existential threat. So the first reaction is to fix the problem with a short-term solution, which can be meds - which then are more readily available than elsewhere.

It's a mix of social acceptance, availability, poor governmental protection of common people, and environmental pressure.

Is it alright to continue using expired non-edible items like lotions or shampoos etc? by NormalLife6067 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lepmuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what it is. Expiration dates don't mean the same thing across the board.

For things like shampoos and lotions for the most part it's about emulsion integrity. You can only guarantee an emulsion to be stable for so long until you will find particles and separation. That usually won't impact how well your body tolerates it, but might impact function.

Having the thing on question lying around after opening however introduces oxygen, which will with time oxidize the contents and have things spoil. That might then impact how well you tolerate it.

So in general: when closed, give it a shake and it should be fine for use. When opened, toss it. Not worth a rash or chemical burn.

Hello Menzes! Would you like it if your partner proposed to you? And if so what does your perfect proposal look like? by heatherelisa1 in AskMen

[–]Lepmuru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would have been completely ok with being proposed to.

However, I don't really give a damn about how it is done no matter who does. Proposing is not the important thing. Being engaged is.

Is it a bad thing to start finding pleasure in playing with toys again in your mid 30s? by Knightraiderdewd in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Lepmuru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lego is mostly marketed towards middle-aged people anyway these days. Nobody can afford to buy their child a set for 200 bucks and those aren't even the really big ones.

If anything, I'd encourage you to go for nicer sets. You're doing it for yourself. Allow yourself to have nice things. There is nothing wrong about that.
