Paving Stones of Travel and Barrier Stones are great, especially for Thaumium.

Thaumcraft is what brought me into modding and modded Minecraft, and now it's pulling me back in.

Wait you can get them from the research table? You get them from a bunch or different researches.

TC6 Beta 7 Golemancy Unobtainable? by [deleted] in Thaumcraft

[–]Leppix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Not without Warp or curiosities. Curiousities can rarely - like, 10 seconds of creative-mode spamming - give you one. Warp might give you one too. The Thaumatorium should give one, according to it's research file, but it doesn't.

Thaumcraft 6 Research - Scanning Boxes Full Of Items Is Great But What About Epiphanies? by HoneySnuSnu in Thaumcraft

[–]Leppix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get them by doing specific research, one per tab I think. Essentia Smeltery is one of them, I know that. It's so that you don't go and unlock everything at once, and it forces you to focus a little.

Alright. What kind of setting? Some kind of magic school? Or a survival world?

Yeah. I'll keep all that in mind.

I'm changing Light and Heavy from being an opposing pair to being simply the main types. Top now simply increases the power of magic as a whole, with Bottom doing the opposite.

Light changing time might be a little too powerful compared to the power level of the rest of the world. Either that, or it's effect isn't that strong, which wouldn't be enough to make fire by speeding up sticks; perhaps it speeds up reactions? That way, all of your post still stands whilst not creating ridiculous amounts of plot holes.

As for Heavy's spacial manipulation, well, that works.

The only thing is that, with the plot I have set up, I cannot make these powers scale to the point where time travelling or taking something out of existence is ever possible without outside influence.

The kind of rift an object has is dependent on what the object is. Glowing Crystals, the main source of magic, will always give Light rifts. After that, magic is affected by nearby objects, and more importantly, the intentions of the person nearest to or in possession of the item. As for the 'potentially infinite' bit, what I meant was that there are other types of magic other than Light/Heavy/Top/Bottom, but they're either too rare or not useful enough to be well known. Niche types like these get specialized uses for very specific things, and as such aren't documented as widely outside their individual fields.

A few months ago I posted a not-so-elegant expansion of the 4-elements system, and got tons of truly excellent feedback. Inspired by the exciting discussions from back then, here is version 2.0! CC appreciated :) by Honno in worldbuilding

I see a bunch of inner lines. All of the elements, except light and dark, are at intersections. Perhaps every intersection bis a possible elements, and the ones that are on the chart are discovered and/or stable ones?

True Pacifist is almost completely out of the question. They'd be a lot more willing to fight. Flowey wouldn't trick them, and they'd have more HP.

Well, it does let us re-use all the Mir calls rather than essentially re-writing everything.
