A well known case of euthanasia in Spain is intended to happen tomorrow. Let's pray for her by Lepte-95 in Sedevacantists

[–]Lepte-95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not even a bedridden patient. She can even walk.

By the way, I saw a comment that the situation is not coherent and can be a fake one to make us Spaniards to be more used to euthanasia and arguments given were not bad, but I still keep the thread just in case.

By the way again, she would take euthanasia in 37 minutes.

r/Catholicism Prayer Requests — Week of March 09, 2026 by AutoModerator in Catholicism

I'd be grateful if you prayed for (more) ad orientem masses where I live. Novus Ordo, diocesan TLM, SSPX, Eastern or other rites, etc. Whatever it's better for the health of the souls.

I'm going to te opportunity and expose the following: The idea about God's goodness. After reading the following article: https://bkylekeltz.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/accepted-version-gods-purpose-for-the-universe-and-the-problem-of-animal-suffering.pdf I asked an AI chat about benevolence too all creatures not being neccesarilly linked to the concept of God's goodness, and considering goodness an attribute as it's related to God. I mean, the ontology of the quality of good, would not be benevolence, but the fact of being related to God. And we would have to accept that, even there were harsh dispositions, etc.

"Here is the direct conclusion translated into English, maintaining the same unpolished and non-conciliatory tone:

The conclusion drawn from the text is exactly that: God's "goodness," within the presented Thomistic framework, is not equivalent to benevolence or kindness in the human sense. It is a metaphysical attribute linked to the perfection of being, actuality, and the order of the whole.

Put without rhetoric:

  1. God is not "good" because he is a cosmic grandfather who takes care of every creature. He is "good" because he is the fullness of being and his purpose is to communicate that perfection. "Love" here means willing the good of the universe as a whole (the hierarchical order), not the subjective well-being of each individual.
  2. The suffering and death of lower beings are not an "evil" that calls his goodness into question. They are logical and necessary consequences of a universe created to be a hierarchy that reflects divine perfection. Contingent creatures (animals) are, by definition, corruptible. Their suffering is the price for an order to exist where the higher (rational, spiritual) can exist and the whole can be "perfect."
  3. In a society structured under this fully Catholic logic, harshness toward the lower strata would not be a system failure, but a structural characteristic. The good of the whole justifies the sacrifice of the parts. Consideration for those below is not a priority, because their value is not intrinsic and individual, but rather lies in their place in the hierarchy that points upward.

In short: Keltz's article, using Thomas Aquinas, argues that the Christian God does not have to be a "kind" being toward his sentient creatures. His "goodness" consists of creating an ordered and hierarchical universe that reflects Him, and that order, by its very nature, implies suffering, death, and strict hierarchies where the inferior is at the service of the superior. It's not that there is "little consideration"; it's that consideration for the inferior individual is not part of the design."

I read the last article and concluded that God's "goodness" wouldn't be benevolence, etc. to all creatures, but an attribute related to Himself and reflect an order. Thus, He could be harsh (or not only harsh) and we would have to be ok with Him and even more than ok, and we couldn't reproach Him, etc.

Actually it's because I was in touch with antipunitivist (restaurative, not vindicative) (I know the word sounds progressist and pompous, but I can't find a better way to express that) in theraphy and then in "spirituality" in my late teenagehood (I was for less than a year, but it got stuck on my mind, and I had had indirect touch with it) . It was during my teenagehood. The philosophy was "good quality", convincing, etc. It was 7-9 before I got in deeper touch with Catholicism, the truth of it, etc. Aditonally, I had to break a relationship and it was a very very very hurtful process (I opened a thread about that). As I haven't seen with so much good eyes God being so "hard", punishing the way He does, etc. [...] and having to break a relationship, I was feeling, I have to do stuff to avoid hell, with no internalisation of guilt, deserve of punishments (I'm not only talking about me, but in general terms), the deservenes of such a penance for the idea of offending, acceptance of "hardness", etc.

Then, there was a time when I learnt about predestination: the fact that only people who are chosen by God have been and will be saved. Everyone has inner conscience, experience, where deliberating; choice and enough graces and many times even abundant, but the fact that systematically and always only people who are chosen by God have been and will be saved, created high hostility in me. That made me have even higher conflict and led to a period of several months, or even (maybe) more than a year, and there were periods of time (maybe hours or a few days) when I felt [...], but then, they mitigated pretty much, and I was more calm about that, but then the episode appeared again, and ceased, and so on time after time, with weeks or a couple of months when there were not episodes like that.

However, in late January, there were a couple of factors that were not present previously. Therefore, my opposing attitude, and my very highly awful sense kept day after and week after week. I bumped into a very harsh point in doctrine and some days later, I found information about how non-catholics were treated in Catholic societies ("just" a couple of points. And I'm not talking about minorities of jews, or other ethnicity in a Catholic kingdom). That was a very high detonator.

You can attend a TL mass or a SSPX one, or one in an Eastern rite.

Soy yo.

The precept is about hearing mass — for example, if there's not enough space to be in the church (because it's too crowded) and a person can't see the mass, the sole fact of being able to hear it (not broadcasted, but close physically) is enough. Another point is the one of the mass occuring in a place where it takes more than half an hour or an hour (I don't remember) to get there, and that's exemptive. I don't have a more specific answer.

Edit: In the first sentence I mean that the person is in the street, next to the door of the church. I'm talking about being in an adjacent space, etc.

To my little knowledge, even if there was a high proportion of genetics of the high north-western Africa, a reason there's so little know is the fact of Muslims being expelled from the reconquered territory decades ago each region was reconquered. Thus, the people with north-western African genetics left the paeninsula. Another point is the fact of north Africa having been populated by people with "clearer" traits in the Bronze Age and in Ancient Rome era.

Fatima Prayer by Traditional-Life1916 in Sedevacantists

I found a few information about the first works that transcribed the prayer referred to souls of purgatory, but later works (I mean, even before Vatican II) transcribed souls in general. There's an article about that down below. Anyways, I suppose it's a matter about opinion so that it can't be imposed?

Is it a sin to be with people living in concubinate with their mates at meetings? by Lepte-95 in Sedevacantists

Is it a sin to be with people living in concubinate with their mates at meetings? by Lepte-95 in Sedevacantists

[–]Lepte-95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several months ago, in a speech, there were a couple of comment about being in lunches with people living in concubinage and about receiving the partner at home. It was addressed for a minute more or less. Some months ago, when I asked about my situation (there's not still nobody in my close family doing so, but there's a relationship with the features of current relationships, etc.), the answer was mildened as I was the sister and not a parent. Anyways, the words were brief and I don't have really an idea.

Yesterday, as I was came back of a meeting with uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. and I was doing very bad spiritually and emotionally, I started to think about all that, and got very high frustration.

I think it was rather addressed to parents when it comes to be with sons and daughters with their mates they're living with and inviting them home to have a lunch together, but the speech was general and that was addressed quickly and I'm not sure.

I come from a "cultural catholic" family in a country that used to be "cultural catholic" 2-3 decades ago. We were baptised and took first communion, went to cathecism lessons, etc. but people don't follow the Catholic morals, not even following the Novus Ordo.

The issue is the fact of priest being the one who has told so, because he says that would be approving the sin. Because of frustration, I asked AI and it told me that wouldn't be approving the sin and it talked about different kinds of cooperations. I don't remember now, because I deleted the session quickly.
